If you're (your;youre) a marxist why would you think its not recommended?

That's a big "if".  I've never read anything by Karl Marx, so I wouldn't pretend to be one of his "-ists".

I did recently read someone making a point about there being many different - occasionally, violently opposing - interpretations of "Marxism".  So, for example, Stalin had Trotsky killed, but both would have claimed to have drawn their political inspiration from Karl Marx.

Some of the interpretations of Marx have led to people setting up murderously oppressive regimes in the former Soviet bloc, in Mao's China, etc.  Other interpretations have led to people working together on developing sustainable, peaceful communities.  I've no idea if any of these interpretations reflect the ideas of Marx himself.

You said in a previous post you are a marxist.

What ever your interpretations of marxism are they are all fundamentally marxism.

We once got made to have a 'European Day' in about 3rd year seniors at school, nice cushy day it was to celebrate the EU and being European etc.

Can remember watching National Lampoons European vacation and being made to eat French cheese and other brain washing activities...True Story

Good thing movies and cheese were put to bed, at first I struggled to come to terms with this, although one day it occurred to me, inside my head must be lined with old cheese and mature movies, or maybe mature cheese and old movies, alas the concept was apparent from the years of indulgence. To hell with you cushy day, the cane will reign again like it falls mainly on the plain in spa-...BRITAIN! The boy at the back rebelling with his 100x lines god save the queen god save the queen on the back of his maths book was right all along. He doesn't like marmite, y'hear? Oh you are not listening?! Maybe that european music is blocking your ears. Your propaganda won't work on me skytalker. Bring on the Morris dancers.

If you're (youre) not a marxist how do you explain your views on religion being banned as you stated in the religion or faith thread?

You're getting me mixed up with someone else.  I don't think religion should be banned.  I'm an atheist, but I believe in people's rights to practice whatever faith they choose (provided it doesn't hurt anyone else).

For what it's worth, the closest thing to a "founding document" of my personal beliefs is nothing to do with Marx or Mao or anyone - it's the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

http://www.un.org/en/universal-declaration-human-rights/

I'll judge any political or economic system by the degree to which it matches up to that.

[Edit] I've just checked that thread.  I was being sarcastic about the idea of banning religion by paraphrasing Trump's quote about a "total shutdown on Muslims entering America until we find out what's going on."  I think Trump's a freedom-hating idiot.  I think people who want to ban religion are much the same.

What i read on that thead on second look may agree with what you're (youre) posting.

Why then do you think that politicians who govern former communist countries would be better suited to rule this country?

Now I'm confused.

I think Jeremy Corbyn would be better suited to govern the country.  ("Govern" is a much nicer word than "rule" - it implies the consent of the people.  I don't want to be ruled by anyone.)  I think countries with shared principles and objectives should work together.  The EU is a good example of how this can be achieved (although the currency union proved to be a step too far).  I'd prefer the UK to be a part of the EU; that's all.
