The player purchase policy is shite but Balotelli was seen as a star of sorts when he was bought so who knows, could be another lined up. I don't like FSG as owners but they have moved the club light years ahead of where moores and parry left it, and there's a new stand on the way. They ain't perfect but they ain't ruining the club either.

Liverpool face paying more for Ings than expected because Burnley have accepted £12m Spurs offer. http://goo.gl/QQPNJP  #lfc #clarets #thfc

So the only reason why Spurs bid for Ings (and Burnley accepted) was to drive up the price? Can't prove it, but if Spurs had no intention of buying him, why did Burnley allow Ings to agree terms with us? Surely now we have to match the £12m offer.

Nah, can't see Ayre being outmaneuvered like that.

Let's hope a tribunal does not look at the market rate of what we normally pay for attacking players.

I doubt it would leave us in a strong position.

On the other hand, if they look at the quality of the attacking players we normally sign, they may reduce the fee accordingly...

I'm hearing that 12M figure. Are you fucking kidding me? 12 for a player whos contract runs out and he's shite? We do this again?

Its FSGs money and their policy of low ball could bite them on the cock.

If this does come to pass, one upside is, that Ayres masters will NOT be pleased.

Danny Ings will work his socks off as much as Dirk Kuyt while also probably scoring more goals. He certainly has better ball control, pace and finishing than Dirk. I think he will become even more popular than Dirk because of that combination.

I hope you are right - we'd all take that.

It remains to be seen if we sign another striker to go with Sturridge, Ings and Origi. Lambert will have takers in the lower reaches of the Prem. I think Lazio are interested in Borini. Balotelli might prove to be harder to get rid of, and if that's the case I hope we don't hide behind that and fail to sign a striker who would go to the top of the pile for us.
