James Milner; £165,000 P/W

Recommended Posts

I doubt Milner would be coming at all if we'd offered him a wide role.

Exactly, he wants to play centre mid even though he's far better out wide, so he's got something in common with Gerrard at least.

Rodgers will tell him whatever he wants to hear but come November he'll be shifted wide.

What's this obsession with backing the signing of an English player by saying "If his name was [insert foreign-sounding bastardization of player's name], everyone would be over the moon..."?

Lazer Markovic

Dejan Lovren

Mario Balotelli

Fabio Borini

Oussama Assaidi

Iago Aspas

Luis Alberto

...sure we would.

Yeah you're right.  A lot of people would just moan no matter what he was called, where he was from, what he plays like, whatever.  It's their default state.

The test they apply is 'are we bidding for the player'.  If so, he must be shite.

One would think that after 4 straight years of being consistently made to look like idiots, people would stop using that line of argument.

I guess the reason he is getting a good wage is we can lend him to the RedSox if he burns out in a year.

Milner was described as a "first class" student at his school; he left with 11 GCSEs and an award for his performance in physical education.[5][6] Milner also showed talent in cricket, sprinting and long-distance running. He played for the Yorkshire Schools cricket team, was the cross-country champion at his school for three consecutive years and was the district champion over 100 metres for two years in a row.[5] He is also had the chance to go professional at Baseball where several teams in America sought to recruit him. He then completed his studies at Boston Spa School;[7] at which the sports college was a partner to the football club.[8]

Seriously though: Milner, Henderson, Allen, and Lucas. Can you imagine going to a party thrown by those guys? It would be Lite Beer and Jenga, combination pizza and maybe some Travis on the stereo.

Everyone off home and in bed by 11.

Yeah, but then Mario would turn up with some magic mushrooms and a rocket launcher.
