James Milner; £165,000 P/W

Au contraire.

The vast majority of players signed under Rodgers aren't good enough.

Probably right. But a decent manager who had a rough fucking clue as to what he's doing would have those same players showing more than they currently are, scoring more goals, letting in fewer goals and therefore we'd be higher up the table. Right now, this is on Rodgers, not individuals and certainly not on Milner who's being played all over the fucking place.

Because you contradicted Dr J who said our players aren't shite, thereby insinuating we're where we are because of the players Rodgers signed but it's not that simple is it. There's a debacle of a transfer committee for starters. We are where we are because Brendan is clueless to the point that he has no idea how to out tactic the ape creatures of the Himalayas.

I'd be looking to move him on the summer. He doesn't make our best XI, he's on laughable wages, he's getting older and he can still command a decent fee.

That's fair enough. He seems like a sound lad and is a good player to have in the squad but he's not good enough to be starting week in week out.

To be fair despite his abysmal first touch and the ease with which he was getting turned, he can whip in a good cross and did on several occasions, often from an awkward position his first touch had put him into...

A fine crosser of the ball if nothing else.

He's better than what we've seen recently but I still reckon he was ideal as a versatile squad player at a club like City. Can "do a job" in several positions but you wouldn't want him to start every week, and when he does start you want him out wide and with an expansive fullback behind him. I still think wide left would be better for us than wide right because Moreno is more that type of fullback than Clyne. Obviously it's less easy for him to provide crosses from the left, but overall the balance is better. The argument that he still wouldn't be providing enough offensively is valid though.

Whatever happens I've got faith Klopp will handle it well. He won't be starting CM every week as he did under Rodgers.

I thought he didn't look fit enough today? Maybe had some sort of Injury 'providing value for what we can reasonably expect from him at this late stage of his career' problem?

He may have his uses during the season but today he didn't display any of them. I think the Boss already has his number. He was dogshit with extra mature smelly dogshit baked in a dogshit crust with wee white sprinkles of albino white dogshit hundreds and thousands sprinkled on the top of it today.

I'd feel guilty about giving that quality of shit to kids coming to the door 'Trick or Treating'.

(but not very)

It's late.

That's the biggest load of dogshit I've ever read on here!

Jimmy did his bit yesterday.

He was missing from that class dressing room selfie though, I think, which is a concern.

He wasn't at his most effective, but those writing him off haven't got a clue.  Yet again.

Don't want to write him off, but he's not a midfielder that much is clear. You play a player like Milner on the wing if you want to protect a fullback, yet several times he's left Clyne badly exposed and there always appears space for the opposition on his side.

Hopefully he's just coming to terms with how the manager wants him to play.
