Queens Park Rangers could be set for a £9.8million windfall if Manchester City sign Raheem Sterling – even though he has never played for them.

QPR, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are entitled to 20 per cent of any sell-on fee Liverpool receive for the England forward.

Sterling joined Liverpool from QPR's academy as a 15-year-old in 2010 for an initial £500,000 with the sell-on clause included as part of the deal.

On Sunday evening, Sky sources revealed Manchester City and Liverpool have agreed a fee believed to be around £49million – made up of £44m up front and a further £5m in add-ons - and if the full amount is paid then QPR would get £9.8m.

Sterling can now negotiate personal terms with City and needs to undergo a medical before finalising a deal which would make him the world’s most expensive footballer under the age of 21.

The player spent seven years in QPR’s Academy between 2003 and 2010 before being brought to Anfield when Rafael Benitez was in charge.

The expected transfer to City would provide a big financial boost to QPR, who filed accounts in March showing a loss of £9.8million during their last season in the Football League – which is the figure they could be due to receive from the Sterling sale.

Could not give  two fucks that he has gone.

Il tell you one thing though:

we have taken  -  £50 Million off Chelsea for Torres

                         -  £49 Million off City for Sterling.

Thats £99 Million of WIN right there.

We may be shit on the field, we may have a bullshitter as a manager and we may have a bunch of inexperienced overhyped kids as a team.

But fair play we have robbed people blind on players recently. And thats the only WIN this club can claim at the moment so il take it.

Yeah we've robbed Barca too, +70m for Suarez. yay. It's so fun to sell your best players!!!

Brenda the Yesman had said he was not for sale. As per usual he was right.

Oh and fuck off Sterling, you overrated piece of shite, enjoy your first training at Shitty with a broken leg.

Sky News reporting he'll be on 200k a week, if that's true Football can go and fuck itself!

it only confirms for me that selling him and getting 49 million was exactly the right thing to do.

The fact he's motivated by the money if we caved in and gave him a 150k per week him and his agent would be back looking for more within a year.

Phew, he will need another one of those breaks in Jamaica now to rest after this.

How much nitrous oxide will 200 grand a week buy you?

Zero confidence in Rodgers not wasting the fee, even though it's pretty hard to not improve after getting £49m for someone who offered as little as Sterling.

What about your confidence in Ian Ayre, surely you must have plenty for Ian. The committee have played a blinder this summer.

Decent price but I'm not buying into this line that he is shit all of a sudden. If he continues to develop and changes his weak points he could be one of the worlds best players.

Obviously they are paying for potential which they can afford to do but lets not pretend Sterling is crap. It will only come back and bite us on the arse.

He could have handled this better but he has no affinity to LFC. We are finishing nowhere. He can go play for true contenders and treble his wages. I would and don't blame him.

The issue I have is how he went about forcing the move.

I think he could have gotten his move this summer without acting the cunt.

Himself and his agent have made him look like a money motivated little gobshite and in a world of overpaid footballers he's come out of this move looking pretty bad.

Other people I know who support other clubs have a dislike towards him because of the way he's acted I think he'll get a lot of stick in most of his away matches this year for city.

POLICE in Manchester have warned football managers to be vigilant following a daring swindle yesterday.

The swindler, going by the name of ‘Brenda’ and described as short, in his early 40s and almost supernaturally self-confident is thought to have swindled an elderly Chilean in Manchester.

A police spokesman said: “The victim was told he was buying £49m worth of quality goods but on closer inspection it appeared to be a Shaun Wright-Phillips knock-off with no guarantee.

“It’s particularly distressing that this was a vulnerable older gent who just two years ago was cheated out of £25m for a worthless Jovetic.

“There seems to be a rash of these crimes at the moment – down the road at Old Trafford a Dutch pensioner asked us for advice on buying what appears to be German goods five years past its sell-by date.”

The motive for Sunday’s robbery is thought to be malicious as well as financial, with the main suspect previously involved in a Balotelli deal that went badly wrong. The police have warned the public not to approach him as he’s believed to be carrying a Lovren.

Other managers have been advised to mark their players with a UV pen and photograph them wearing the club shirt, to prevent them falling into the hands of Aidy Ward.

Logan said: “Sunday’s victim is trying to make the best of things but all too often such goods are sold off two years later for a massive loss. Usually to Harry Redknapp.
