The Official Raheem Sterling Thread (Part 412)

His pace and turns are decent. His strength on the ball is good too. His shooting is poor and his decision making on the run isn't fantastic. He does have a good eye for a pass and the fact is him leaving will make us a weaker team if we don't replace him with someone of the same standard, which looking at his current overall skill set, shouldn't be that hard. But it will be.

Where has anyone mentioned the colour of his skin until you did there? Fucking prick for posting that and I hope you get mugged today. By a white-man.

Although I'm not sure I really agree with Hades (save for agreeing that a small group of really cretinous twats will sub consciously find it much easier to distant themselves from Sterling because of cultural perceptions) do you really think that the racism is as clear cut as "Well, no-one mentioned his colour!"?

I mentioned on another thread that after he got done by Fabregas nobody retaliated, or pressed the referee too much or even went over to him. He'll be gone by July.

That's insightful. Usually there's a bit of fight for your own. Perhaps this indicated that Sterling is not longer seen in that way by his teammates. Or maybe it just indicates the general lack of fight and leadership in the whole side as the season fizzles out?

Bit of both, I'd reckon, but more troublesome is the latter. We need a hard(ish) man out there. My money's on Can to fill that role.

I think it means our players are a bit racist.

Jermaine_Pennant: Hello there, Brendan!

Brendan Rodgers: Ah, hello JP! Out and about?

JP: Ah-ha. Same as yourself?

BR: Good good!

JP: I hear you're a racist now, Brendan?

BR: ...wh-what?

JP: How'd you get interested in that type of thing?

BR: Who said I'm a racist?!

JP: Everyone's saying it, Brendan. Should we all be racist now? What's the official line the club has taken on this?

BR: No! No-

JP: Only, pointlessly arguing on the internet takes up most of the day, and at night I just like a good wank. I mightn't be able to devote myself full time to the old racism.

stringvest: Good for you, Brendan!

BR: What? Oh, stringvest!

stringvest: Good for you, Brendan! Glad someone had the guts to stand up to them at last! Coming over here, taking and our managerial jobs and our women and acting like the own the feckin' place, rubbing their hands! Well done Brendan! Good for you! Good for you! I'd like to feckin'... Feckin' Spanish managers!

Thing is we're judging him as if he was 27 not 20. He's obviosuly not the finished article, but does possess the skills to become a top player. He'll probably go on to be that player for Arsenal, but if we spend the money correctly I don't think we'll miss him. He doesn't have the love of the fans to be missed, nor has he preformed at a high enough level for us to be saying 'We really miss Sterling' in 6 months time. The only real disappointment is he'll not develop into the player he could/should for us.

I don't think he's a cunt for wanting to leave like some. Nor do I think his behaviour is that of a cunt. He just seems like most young millionaires. Hardly something that gets a rise out of me, life's too short for that shit.
