The Official Raheem Sterling Thread (Part 412)

No Suarez, Gerrard, Sterling and for the most part Sturridge. That's a huge, huge loss.

If the one who was formerly a woman © Noche Gato, doesn't put his leather gloved hand in his pocket and spend large for some top players this summer, it's goodnight for us. Take the emotion out of it and Sterling is easily one of our best players right now.

Him leaving is a blow. Not in itself, because he's got a powder puff shot and isn't a footballing genius but for what it says about us as a club, and taken in view of the other big names leaving and you start to wonder what the direction of this club really is. It certainly doesn't seem to be challenging for much other than the title of top selling club.

Two consecutive seasons running, (because the Jamaican rudebwoy is nailed on to jump ship) our top player has left us for another club. That is a fucking embarrassment.  Anyone feel confident that they are going to be replaced? Anyone feel like we are going to get anything more than walter softee Hendo as our midfield usherette next season?

So next season it's Coutinho/ Skrtel/ Mig (!) to leave? Or if any of our players has a standout season we are basically putting a for sale sign on their back.

Shit ain't right. And it needs a fix.

Beeb gossip yesterday suggesting that he's putting his Merseyside home on the market and looking for a London house. Hopefully, FSG will keep their word and refuse to sell. Let him discover the joys of commuting. He certainly doesn't play to the standard any team would expect for the money he (or his avaricious cunt agent) thinks he's worth

Todays goss is 4 players not signing new contracts. I personally am more worried that we might lose Ibe than Sterling - in fact I think Sterling is a bad influence/ role model and Ibe would do better at the club if Sterling left.

He's gone off the boil since all the speculation about his future. He is a good player when he is on it, and he could go on to be very good indeed. But he's not there yet. There are only a few teams who could take him off our hands:

Man Utd

They have the money but surely won't be in for him.

Man City

They have the money, they also need English players, but is he enough of a 'statement' for them at this point in his career? If they spend good money they want to have a title challenging team again, and is Sterling at the level to be a main man in such a team yet?

Chelsea

They have the money, but do they need him? Would he even get in their side?

Arsenal

This one makes the most sense from a footballing perspective as Wenger has a track record of doing well with younger players. However, since Arsenal have opened the purse strings in the last two years, they have gone for established players like Sanchez or Ozil. Would Wenger pay more than they cost for someone who has yet to fulfill his potential?

It's a tough conundrum. In many ways Sterling's mediocre form has perhaps strengthened our hand, as it might make teams think twice about making us an offer we can't refuse. But if we do get a wedge of cash, I hope we spend it wisely. Lukaku and Barkley? Would be funny.

Man City saw him first-hand participating in a title challenge last season.

And they could buy him for fun.

Sterling wouldn't be a certain starter in any of those sides. He wouldn't improve any of them.

Sterling and his connections appear more concerned about bagging 150k a week than playing football.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was prepared to do a bit of bench warming at an oil club if the wage was met.

It doesn't matter if he's potentially a great player he has clearly downed tools and evidently possesses feathers where he should have feet. Needs to be jibbed off, his attitude will be corrosive. And any cunt that goes and veneers his teeth like Shrek's donkey is a cunt.

Take the money we get for him, take the wages we were paying him, add that to the wages we were going to pay him and buy a Forward who is ready to be world class now and not in 3-5 years.

Alternatively, buy 3-4 potential world beaters on peanuts a week and wait for them to be shit.
