Liverpool vs Spurs

What I loved tonight was that as the game went on you could see players looking to give the ball to him when they had other options because they knew what he would do with it.  Must be great as a young lad coming into the side and knowing your team-mates have that level of confidence in you.  He's got a long way to go for sure but he's great to watch, I love a player who gets the ball and runs at people.  As someone pointed out earlier in the thread, although he can dribble a bit much at times (he looks like if you stood him on the East Lancs with a ball at his feet he'd end up in Manchester) he's not afraid to stop, put his foot on it and take a second too if he sees a blind alley.  That's the side of the game that will improve with experience anyway, he's an exciting talent though for sure.

And Spurs put two men on him the whole second half to slow him down!

There was one point when he was dribbling down the wing against Rose (who he had on toast in the first half), two more Spurs players came over to marshal him toward the corner flag, that's how worried they were.  Unfortunately Markovic was just standing still, otherwise he might have opened himself up for a pass with all the attention they had focused on Ibe, but it just went to show how much Ibe's dribbling from the first half had terrified them.

A great result against a strong Spurs team, especially considering we had Lucas and Sterling out and they had their full strength team.

Sturridge did okay although he does look noticeably slower. Hopefully that's just due to lack of match fitness. Ibe did well too, a great alternative to have to Sterling.

Mignolet was excellent, quite an amazing turnaround in form for him. Lots of positives to take from that game, only concern being how do we replace Lucas who might not be everyone's cup of tea but does a good job in protecting the defence.

Loved that, I bet Brendan did too - I said in the MF thread it's what, his third PL appearance and they're putting two men on him, wisely too because he was going past one like smoke.  His ball in to Lallana that set Mario's goal up too.

I love it that we're bringing youth into the side again and they're performing.

Liverpool became only the third team to score more than 4,000 top flight goals at home on Tuesday night.

Brendan Rodgers' side took an early lead against Tottenham in the Premier League clash at Anfield when Hugo Lloris failed to keep out Lazar Markovic's scuffed effort after 15 minutes.

Liverpool's Merseyside rivals Everton have scored the most home goals in the top tier of English football with 4,208.

Harry Kane celebrates after levelling for Tottenham 26 minutes into the first half

Aston Villa, who have notoriously struggled for goals in recent seasons, are the only other team to achieve the feat having bagged 4,025 home goals.

Liverpool's lead against Spurs didn't last long as Harry Kane continued his rich vein of form when he drew the visitors level after 26 minutes.

A victory Liverpool will see the club move to within just one point of top-four rivals Tottenham in the chase for Champions League football.

Scholes got caught mouthing 'knobhead' at Savage. They just had to apologise.

Fucking amateurs.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Scholes speaks like someone in the early stages of a Methadone programme.

It doesn't gel perfectly with a media role as a style, does it?

A tough game, but we are in form, and I fancy a high scoring win shsring five.

Good work Xerox.

Finally Mario eh. That was a real ding dong battle. A boxing match. They re the type of game you dont want to come out on the losing side of and somehow we managed to nick it.
