It's some run of albums Rod had from 1969 to 1974 (solo and Faces).

I have no recollection of posting in this thread, and I came on to write exactly what it seems I wrote over a year ago. I've already said it, but no harm in saying it again - his run of albums from the late 60s to mid 70s is absolutely brilliant and second to none.

If Rod had died in 1976 he would be regarded as absolute rock royalty. People would say, "just imagine what more he could have accomplished...". Unfortunately that was D ya think I'm sexy. Buy anyway, that first decade, he really was something special.

So very true, saw them in 1972 at the Liverpool stadium in town superb gig. His cover of the the two soul classics, Rather go Blind and I'm Losing You are excellent. But as you also rightly said, then came Do ya think I'm sexy.

I remember my late elder brother talking about that gig for many years afterwards about what a stormer it was.

Yea, it was. Rod smashing flyaway footballs in the crowd.

Sorry you lost a brother.

Thank you mate, I always enjoyed his stories of gigs at The Stadium......Hawkwind and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band as well as The Faces....at the end of the gig he would usually be out of money so he would walk home to Waterloo.
