Rickie Lambert

He is in the same vein as Balo. A poacher. There will be goals, but probably not prolific in the tight realm of the Prem.

There was a moment in the Ludo game where Gerrard instigated a lovely quick flick towards the centre of the box Lambert didnt even see it coming and the move broke down. Right there is our problem. Luis would have read the pass and buried the ball in the net. Sturridge too probably.

'High speed pass and move' and 'ricky lambert' dont pair up in the same sentence too well.

Luis was a poacher AND a speedster AND a football genius.

I was critical of him and this 'nervousness' of playing for Liverpool.

But he's got 2 in 2 now and that's something you'd think balotelli would die for.

Hopefully, Lambert has got this 'nervousness' of playing for Liverpoolout of his system and can go on a bit of a run.

To be fair to him, he was only ever signed as a back up striker and not as a main man. If he continues to score, hopefully the manager will keep him in the team.

Thought he played very well last night.

Held the ball up well the last couple of games. Just does simple stuff that Balotelli often doesn't even bother attempting. Lambert making the most of limited physical and technical (less so) ability, the complete opposite to Mario, the powerful, reasonably quick, technically excellent, turnip brained, lazy, simpleton.

He's shite. Useless, slow head on a stick footballer that isn't much better than Andy Carroll.

If he's our best option after spending over 200m, which he actually has a damn good case to be, then we're in massive trouble.

The same could be said for the likes of Lucas and Toure.

He's decent for the price.  It's the other monies spent that are causing the problems

Well yeah, he'd be ok if we bought better forwards and never really had to play him or expect him to be up to much.

His limited ability was clear before he was signed and he gives his all, so I've no problem with him really.  I've a massive problem with how average the squad is though.

Hes a decent PL player and worthy of a squad place at a decent club like ours. Its not his fault that he is behind a mixture of lazy, injured and pure shite forwards and has been catapulted to number 1 choice at 34. Its also not his fault that his supply line, who we paid £25 million for,is not considered good enough for regular selection despite very good performances for both club and country at the same time.

Deserves some credit and would prosper if our manager had the balls to drop and rest one of our greatest ever players for the good of the player and the team.
