I wouldn't point the finger at Sky I would say it's club owners and chairmen who want to make more money out of their clubs than they were doing beforehand. While it is a fucker having to pay for Sky the coverage and the amount of football is much better. Also are people blaming Sky for the fact that Liverpool aren't able to compete financially with the top 4 cause IMO that isn't Sky's fault that is down to the poor management of the club in the past.

The amount of Football is much, much worse.

They fuck about with kick off times, couldn't give two fucks about the support, every game is on the telly, it's a load of absolute shite. Fuck giving Murdoch a penny of my money.

You used to get one game on TV at 3pm on a Sunday. There was one Italian game on a Sunday afternoon. I do agree that fans who go the match suffer when games are moved to Saturday afternoons or evenings for TV , but if your team is playing away at least you may be able to watch the game if you couldn't go.

In all seriousness, I'm counting down the days until there's half-time entertainment.

Superball, here we come.

We had that when Sky started. I recall going to a Goodison Derby where they had It's A Knockout teams fighting it out with giant inflatable sumo warriors.

We need a return to fans battling it out in shit penalty shootouts.

The Europa League

What a cunt of a tournament. Thursday KO, middle of nowhere, more expense for the fans and more chance of the league fixtures being dotted about all over the place.  You have to play about 10 games to play anyone decent and when we do get that far, Rodgers and his team will get stage fright and we will be getting dumped out.

Just make it a knockout tournament and be done with it

Bring back the UEFA and the Cupwinners, I say. Even though they weren't the top tier of competition, they still had a prestige that the Europa League will never have.

The whole of European football takes the piss. The Champions League has been diluted to the point where it's a glorified Eurovision Song Contest. Round after round after round even though you know the same old dickheads will end up in the semis anyway. Then a totally emasculated Europa cup which is intended only as a back up money spinner to any clubs that fall out of it. A two tier European super league in all but name, but not that super.

They had more prestige because Arsenal would of been playing in the cup winners cup this season and us and Chelsea would of been in the UEFA cup with Barcelona, if they brought those back they would need the old system back aswell, I remember us back in Roy Evans era playing PSG, and would if been Barcelona in the final, big big competition then but would be a joke now with Top 4 CL qualification still in place

Stream of consciousness incoming ...

This club living off its history. I feel its gotten to a point where its detrimental.

The owners then milking that history as some sort of glib cliched marketing tool. I think that might be an american thing to be honest.

I would say that fan ownership is the way to go apart from the fact that half our fans are morons.

And Jason McAteer going around on the Liverpool legends(which is another load of bollox) gig? Not having that either.

I think that's why people loved Suarez so much. He was old school. He just wanted to play football and to win games. I don't even care that he wanted to move on.

If your unemployed you can't afford Sky but you can't afford fucking anything if your signing on as its only something like £290 a month. You can't really blame Sky for the dole being so low, if your on the sick then you can easily afford Sky. I travel through council estates in Liverpool and every fucker has Sky dishes up.

We were getting Sky for £5 a month, basic package,so I'm sure those 'council estates' are getting a few cut price deals themselves too.

Dont assume a Sky dish equals everybody having the full price Sky packages. Quite a few may have been disconnected too. I'd also like to remind you that people in employment also live in council estates. Lets not even get into 'Right to Buy' discussions either.

Book by its cover,etc,etc.

I've just seen an article only posted hours ago about the Barca president denying reports Luis Enrique is getting the sack at the end of the season.

How is that even a fucking rumour to be dismissed?!

It's going to go into overdrive in the next week or so.

Selling the Anfield atmosphere and the legend of the Kop to foreign supporters but when they arrive at Anfield they watch utter dogshit in a half and half scarf sitting in a silent stadium.

People are going to get sick of paying more for their season tickets than the Manchester clubs and Chelsea. At least their fans see a trophy every now and then.

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/malaysian-fans-group-vow-boycott-9277645

A Malaysian supporters group is urging fans to boycott Liverpool’s pre-season friendly in Kuala Lumpur.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will face a Malaysia XI on July 24 in the final match of their fortnight-long tour of the Far East and Australia.

However, ‘Ultras Malaya’ are furious at the disruption that the upcoming visits of both Liverpool and Tottenham will cause to the domestic league season and the national team’s preparations for World Cup qualification. Spurs are playing a lucrative end of season game in Malaysia on May 27.

“Don’t buy the tickets, don’t go to the stadium,” the group said in a statement.

“The matches are simply held to make FAM (Football Association of Malaysia), the organisers and their cronies rich, so don’t let FAM and the organisers profit from this sort of nonsense.

"What’s the point? A win for Malaysia is unlikely, and you can’t be expecting the visitors to give their very best, like they play in the EPL on the TV, can you?”

Malaysia have slumped to 166th in the FIFA rankings and the Ultras argue the national team should be playing more competitive fixtures rather than facing weakened Premier League clubs who treat the games as training exercises.

They believe organisers will resort to giving away free tickets in a bid to ensure the 80,000 capacity stadium is full.

“When one of these free tickets come into your possession, do not be tempted to go to the match!” the statement said.

“Get as many as possible, and then shred them so no-one else can get their hands on the tickets and go to the stadium in your place. And don’t even think about selling them to others!

“When you do not go to the matches and the stadium is empty, it will show to the organisers and FAM that circus matches have no place in Malaysian football.

“They will then have no option but to stop organising them, and start organising ‘A’ class international friendlies instead. An empty stadium during circus matches will also show interested European clubs, that Malaysian football supporters are not interested.”

Skybox F5S.

Yeah those Skybox F5s are the business. All the sport even Setanta Ireland so you can watch 3pm Saturday footie. Problem with them is there is no HD and if you want to watch anything on box office you can't. On the plus side though if you find porn on the inter web a little to x rated you can view the porn on sky.
