Mine are years old and been worn loads. Still in good nick though. They don't seem to wear out.

First time I’ve ever spent big on a winter coat. Got a nice Rab number….the warmest coat I’ve ever owned by some distance!

It's never cold enough for more than a light padded jacket in this country any more. Protection from rain with a quilted stuffing is all we need nowadays.

I bought a big padded coat approx 6 years ago, probably worn it six times. The last couple I wore with just a tee shirt underneath because anything else and I would be too hot. Shame as it is a great looking coat. 

 

Also looking for light padded jacket, if anyone has any recommendations. Probably happy to spent £200-£300. Ideally at the lower end

Amazing to think that some people don't like the cold as much as others and that it might not stay as high as 17 degrees over the next six months.

I paid about 55 quid,a lot for me,for a big coat from Next about 7 or 8 years ago. I've probably not even worn it 7 or 8 times. Seemed a great idea at the time.

By you it might go significantly colder but down here it will rarely become cold enough for a heavy coat.
