I know there's a pub pretty much opposite the Palladium. Can't remember the name and I've not been there but I know there is one. It's worth looking on all those streets just off Regent St as some of them do specialist beers and ales, and then there is decent chain fare like Shakespeare's Head on Carnaby St, just round the corner from the Palladium. It depends what you're after.

If a man were going to see Jeff Tweedy at the London Palladium and was looking at his options to go for a beer with his old man after the gig where would you suggest that might be an option on a Tuesday night?

there a decent pub opposite the Palladium on Argyll Street Stu - literally seconds from the steps of the theatre.  I go there occasionally to meet up with chums as it's relatively central. Good choice of beers and there are normally a few chairs outside for those brave enough. It's called, predictably enough, the Argyll.

The state of this bourgeoisie bastard. I bet you smoke using a cigarette holder and wear a monacle and top hat. Time sir, let me just reach into my waistcoat and pull out my timepiece, it's just here on the end of this silver chain.

Chums indeed.

Don't be so ridiculous.  His butler holds the pocket watch, Stringy merely needs to click his fingers and point.

Ain’t nothing but the blues bar is around there prices are fairly steep and it’s normally packed but it can be quite good fun when there’s live music on. W1B 5PZ

Blue posts down the road from it, nothing special but upstairs can be a bit quitter and at £4 a pint it’s reasonable for Londonland  W1B 5PX

To be honest though most of the pubs around there will be pints on the pavement as even on a Tuesday night with it being cold they might be quite busy.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat Brasserie Zedel (W1F 7ED) near Piccadilly circus is good and not astronomically priced, would need to book ahead though.

The website seems overly complicated.

Do I really need to book to go for a drink on a Wednesday evening?

I think you need to book any sort of access. Not 100% though.

I was staying by there a few weeks back and swerved it because of that very reason.

I love the Walkie Talkie though. Great building.

Tried to go twice, only actually went up once. First time I just rocked up around 4-5pm and got told to come back at 6 because I had no booking. The other time we went after dinner maybe around 9pm and we just walked straight in.

I think I’ve messed up with the hotel booking so am desperately thinking how to redeem myself
