My brother is taking his 10 year old Son down to Liverpool for three days (August), any suggestions for them?

I've already mentioned The Beatles museum & Albert Dock. I'm usually down to watch the game & get wrecked so not sure of much to do with kids in/around the city.

Sefton Park is great to just wander around. Few little coffee and ice cream places there to stop off.

Get’s missed off the list of museums a bit, but Western Approaches is ace. It’s where they ended up coordinating the Battle of the Atlantic from. Secret underground bunker.

You can go to the Central Library and go up to the 4th floor and it’s got good views of the city for free.  Not sure on restrictions as last time I went it was very much COVID lockdown. Best to check, but even if not it’s by the museums and St George’s Hall and you’re pretty much in the middle of town.

Arcains the retro gaming place at the Baltic market. Under 18s allowed in until 6pm. Lovely places around there for street food as well.

I got a dulce de leche croissant from Rough Hand Made in the Albert Dock yesterday.

It was amazing. And the rest of the stuff they do looks quite impressive too.

Do great pitta breads in there as well....Shame they moved from Penny Lane though as it's a pain to get there now..

Well it is for me

Only a matter of time before they are infiltrated by the CIA and forced to serve bland US food. Otherwise they will force a change of ownership.

Pretty certain Woolton picture house is closed for good now. They announced around the first lockdown that they were going to shut for good, but then there was a local crowdfunding campaign and the press covered it, so they thanked everyone and said they would stay open.

They last updated Facebook last year saying they weren't going to open until March but never did and it's still closed. I suspect the reason they haven't announced officially is they want to avoid any more brouhaha and are just done with the place.

Tragic, if the culture sector in Liverpool had anything about it at all it'd intervene.
