I love a good murder ballad, especially based on a true story, anyone else?

Decoration Day - The Drive By Truckers - This one is about a family feud between the Lawsons and the Hills

Not true but still awesome, Delias Gone - Johnny Cash - "First Time I shot her, I shot her in the side, hard to watch her suffer but with the second shot she died"

Alright need some help here - got into Irish trad some years ago through bluegrass, fiddle tunes, shanties etc. My initial interest was an instrumentalist and it was the Bothy Band that blew my mind but then got into the vocal heritage - Clancy's, Tommy Makem, Luke Kelly and PM and Chieftains.

So recently, seen this minx fiddling with High Kings - no time for the lads, but the girl - who is?

As a few of you know, my owld Ma is (still) in hospital. Over the past several weeks she's found it comforting and actually therapeutic when I take my iPod up there, stick the headphones on her and let it rip.

Been hilarious listening to her singing Friggin in The Riggin, and she's in floods every single time Eleanor Rigby and Forever Autumn come on.

Anyway, over the past couple of nights she's had me grabbing these beauts for her...
