The Wylde Ratttz were formed to do the soundtrack for Velvet Goldmine and did a load of Stooges covers.

They also, however, recorded a second set of original material that remained unreleased for 23 years until yesterday.

Ron Asheton: Guitar, vocals, piano, tympani.
Mark Arm: Vocals.
Thurston Moore: Guitar, vocals, electronics.
Mike "Pipe" Watt: Bass, Beam, spiel.
Steve Shelley: Drums, percussion.
Don Fleming: Guitar, vocals.
Sean Ono Lennon: Multitronics, guitar, vocals.
Jim Dunbar: Percussion, vocals, polaroids.

Now that's a fucking supergroup.

This might be a stupid question but what happens at one of these listening parties that makes it different from just sticking the album on yourself?

That's not meant negatively, I was genuinely wondering.

It's got members of each band live tweeting about the tracks as it's playing.

Tell you what, that was really cool. I'm feeling a little emotional after Doves, not going to lie.

So you press play when Tim says go so you are all in sync. You get the band tweeting along with little tales/photos about the the song. You get all the people listening adding comments, memories of the past and the like. Just felt pretty special.

Have a look here, there's loads of great albums coming up, and loads that are just waiting for confirmed dates too.

Top tip, get tweetdeck on you laptop/mac, you get auto refreshed feed from the artists, as well as the hashtag feed without have to move back and forth.
