didn't have time to really absorb the recent Bunnymen LP with the new 'transformed' versions of the classics when i got it, but have sat down with it and i reckon it's the absolute fucking business. gruffer, rougher tone voice now and i like that. so anyone who likes them but hasn't heard it- get it. only a fiver on the biggest internet cunt company on the planet's website.

the new tracks 'The Somnambulist' and 'How Far?' cut the mustard also

recent Mac interview

HMV going into Admin again...

Lots of jobs at risk there, very sad news.

Fuck them. Like Blockbuster when they put loads of independent video shops out of business HMV did the same for the music shops. Hard to feel any sympathy for them.

The employees fair enough but the majority are young student types anyway.

I'm gutted about Fopp (HMV own them), I practically live in there & would miss it massively. The staff in the Edinburgh one are generally great too.

Obviously it's become legendary over the years and deservedly so but would it be fair to state that this is the most perfect song ever recorded? Heard it for the first time in ages today on CD and you forget how awesome it is from beginning to end.

I lasted 1 min 4 seconds.  The first 40 seconds of which were wondering if it was a poodle-head parody.  This can be summed up in one disapproving phrase: "The 80s..."

The woman's screech ended it for me.

Long hair is de rigueur for metal bands and fans.

Any top mettalers who avoided the uniform...?

I go for Graham Bonnet.  Brilliant in Rainbow, and although I thought it looked stupid because I was a little kid who thought he lacked "commitment", he clearly wins:
