Brendan Rodgers and the transfer market

If we finish 7th or 8th i'd still want Rodgers here, he just needs time to shift out all the deadwood. He's fucked up majorly this window, he needs to rectify it with his tactics because we are impotent from an attacking point of view.

What the Fuck are u on can I have some

this is a key moment for Rodgers - his whole "strategy" seems to be unfolding and he's beginning to look like he's out of his depth and without a clue what to do next...the same happened around this time for Rafa in 09-10..except Rafa had much more constraining financial factors and a track record of success behind him..

Rodgers is on thin ice - he's done nothing in the game apart from last season's challenge

If the owners had any sense whatsoever, they'd be doing their utmost best to get Roy in as a transfer advisor, or even back as manager.

Now there's a manager that knew how to work the transfer market.

See my advice on the other thread. A Rafa wind-up always has potential. A Roy wind-up is hopeless.

I think he's already advising Rodgers and the Committee.

If Liverpool football club was an A & R company during the Brit Pop era we wouldn't sign the likes of Oasis, Blur or Pulp. For a start Oasis would be too big for us, we wouldn't get a look in, Blur would be established so we'd look elsewhere, Pulp would be considered too eclectic, we'd overthink Pulp. We'd be interested in Suede but we'd end up making an arse out of the deal and Suede would take their jarring tunes somewhere they'll be appreciated, after growing tired of protracted negotiations.

We'd be the one that ends up signing Reef. "Now Reef, that's a young band with the world at it's feet". We'd throw a bloody fortune at Reef after "Place your hands" came out in the hope that it's just the start of a tremendous career. We'd send them all over the world to record their follow up at great expense, before getting the tapes back and realising that we've made a monumental fuck up.

Two words.  Shed Seven.

He's bought most of the deadwood. He couldn't spot a player in a Harlem pool hall.

I can accept people being unhappy right now because I'm one of them, but the kicking he's getting is not on, last season he produced a brand of football better than anything I've seen in an age, let's give him a chance to rectify things eh?

And there's me thinking it was Suarez who produced the football and motivated the other players.

Bring in Rafa as DoF and get Klopp as manager then sign Reus, Hummels and one of the Benders (not Le Saux) and win the league.

Also sign TLW as transfer advisors as we obviously know more about football with our unlimited access to YouTube and football manager. If you play football manager on one of those fancy windows tablets you're basically the same as a real one or a skysports pundit at the very least.

I am certainly against adding a Director of Football or coaching staff (a defense specialist/coach) against the manager's will. That will create more problems on and off the pitch than it can solve.

You either support Rodgers and see what happens in the next 2-3 seasons, or sack him at the end of this season if we finish trophyless and below Top 6 in the Premier League.

Did Rodgers sign a new contract? I remember they were about to open negotiations for a new contract at the end of last season.

You are having a laugh aren't you Section? No, you are certainly taking the piss.

FSG refused to give Rodgers any money last January when we were challenging for the Premier League and a Top 4 finish that would bring tens of millions to the club and you think that they will spend money in January during a write off season that will most likely end with losing our Top 4 status?

I don't know why we don't just start with Borini. I don't particularly rate him but he won't be no worse than what's currently on offer and at least he'll run for 90minutes which will create space for others.

Yup.

I honestly have no idea what Brendan is at this season. Making mistake after mistake. Not good enough at the minute in any shape or form.
