TLW is the best by a mile.  Used to browse 6cm and TIA before I found here and they was ok.  I don't like really like RAWK but I can kind of understand the need for some kind of moderation on it simply due to the huge amount of people using it.  The mods on there go way overboard though and I wouldn't want to use a forum where I have to constantly watch what I say.

My first experience of a forum was a sci fi one years ago, because I was a 'noob' their response to everything I posted was 'well obviously!', someone would then respond to that post with '*high fives*'. It was a proper Aspergers fest, the net really is the great leveller for oddballs.

Wonder what the most boring forum is? I encountered a Vauxhall owners forum once.

I was looking for somewhere to replace a cam belt at a reasonable price for my Audi. I found an audi fan club forum who were more nazi than rawk.

When I said I was looking for an independent to do the work I was slated by every cunt on there saying how they'd "never allow anyone but a mother to look after her baby".

As much as I loved that car I now have a Mondeo.

Apart from TLW, the only other forum I've joined is Skyscrapercity. It's great for keeping tabs on architectural plans, developments, landscaping and planning.

I have a 3 Series and have visited a few BMW forums to view threads which discuss technical issues and so on. It's quite informative in helping you understand what the problem might be and what might be involved in sorting it, BEFORE you take you car to a garage and pay for things like diagnostic checks or having work done. In some cases it's not necessary to go to a garage. What I don't get is, rather like the Audi forums Col was talking about, you get cunts that lay into other forumites for not using things like original equipment parts and so on. Most of these people seem to think their car will appreciate in value because the service book is full of official stamps and all replacement parts are OEM. These dickheads don't realise that their 3 Series coupes were so fucking common anyway that they'll eventually be worth fuck all, just like nearly every other car on the road. It's an ordinary production car not a concours event showpiece.

If this forum is quiet I will occasionally pop over to TIA, it's alright for LFC opinions but there are no tits arse or minge, but it is busier.

I don't see the point in joining any other forums now. The FF can be an annoying place to read sometimes but the GF pretty much covers everything I'm into with the added bonus of good humour.

I occasionally post on 4chan's music, comic, /r9k/ and tv/film boards but it's hard to get a good discussion going and when you do find a good thread, about 40-60% of posts will just be people shitting over each other's opinions or calling each other faggots.

Before I joined here I was a moderator on a forum dedicated to Pro evo. I had a look on there recently, a good 6 years after leaving and it looked like it had died a death. People were still posting but there'd be threads on the first page that hadn't been posted in for weeks/months in most of the sub-forums. There was still quite a few of the regulars posting which I found rather bizarre. The place was turning to shit well before I left, I only stayed as long as I did because they asked me to become a moderator. I didn't even have to do anything and got a free elite membership so I had access to where they all shared porn and dodgy downloads.

I used to read the RATTLE when it was open to the public & it was full of great posters, I think getting in was a bit Masonic though.

Other than that most I've seen are completely ruined by draconian moderation.

All forums are masonic unfortunately. Full of in house gags and virtual reach arounds. This place included. As an example, Ive lost count of the amount of rim jobs given out over baking techniques.

I suppose it's a case of 'if your username fits'.

I actually only use this place, I'm a faithful bastard me. You could dangle a forum with massive tits and a cute arse in front of my eyes and i'll just shake my head.
