Thank You is one of the greatest love songs ever.

Listened to that on a boom box in the mid-80s lying next to the first girl I ever really fell for on a grassy knoll, smoking Sweet Caporal cigs and drinking tequila/beer and bloody Southern Comfort.

Fuck me it takes me back when life was just pure potential and pure in the moment, there was no past; just the now and you felt that nothing thrown at you would ever stick, you had the girl, a bit of liquor, amazing songs, and it was all ahead of you.

I reckon if someone showed up with a boom box playing Thank You, Vickie from Gr.11 Socials and G level Maths, something with HP sauce on it and a Belgian flag to set on fire in the park I would die a happy man. A packet of Twiglets as well. Oh, and a single malt, preferably highlands, and some Heineken.

Gazza? No KFC or fishing rod please.

I should add that "The Bus" was written on that same knoll.

It's always been 1 & 3 for me. Both pretty much flawless albums.

Its 1,2,and 3 for me - (although I have moved on to jazz fusion as an old fart) - I am learning to play drums and figuring out immigrant song and when the levee breaks - kind of a blast from the past as I saw them 3-4 times (no I don't remember, :D )

Remastered & expanded BBC Sessions out in September...

https://www.amazon.com/Complete-BBC-Sessions-3CD/dp/B01IOAAZSE?ie=UTF8&tag=viglink20252-20

I don't see them on Amazon.co.uk yet.

If you only ever buy one Led Zeppelin CD - it has to be this one. It's fucking mega. An absolute vehicle of a band.

Anyway, found this footage from a studio session they did for Danish TV in 1969. I saw it on some late night BBC2 in about 1988 and my life was never the same again:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Turn it up loud, glass in hand and enjoy.

Saturday mornings don't come much better than this one.

And yes, I'm still half cut.

Is that the new one that came out last week, Mook? It's got some rarities including the only known recording of 'Sunshine Woman'. BBC's original recording got binned, so they tracked down some dude in eastern Europe who was recording the original broadcast the night it aired. He was recording from an AM radio onto a reel-to-reel tape in his bedroom.

My dad used to share a flat/room with Robert Plant.

Out of III and IV for me, and maybe 1. You may be able to tell that I can never decide...

Although its my first love, I don't listen to that type of music anymore

I take it the flat share was during Plant's pre-Led Zeppelin days?

I would love to go for a pint with Robert Plant, he comes across as a really good laugh although I'm not sure about waking up in the middle of the night with him screaming 'Baby, baby, baby' in the next room rattling some bird.
