Didn't it take Crouch 15 games or so before he scored? And he was starting, not coming on late to lost causes. Patience.

Ricky for a hat trick, leaps 10 rows deep in the Kop and is swallowed alive whole.

Is Neville Southall in the Kop today?

I wouldn't mind Lambert being in there from the start if I thought we were going to put in the types of cross he thrives on - those little inswinging crosses towards the back of the 6 yard box that he can either tuck home or nod-down into Lallana's path. But I've yet to see us play to his strengths.

19 games it was!  And via the aid of a massive deflection. Though another one followed about 10 minutes after that and he went on a bit of a run afterwards. Thing is when he wasn't scoring we were still winning games so it didn't matter that much at the time.

Lambert looks out of his depth though. His penalty miss in pre-season didn't help, seemed to knock his confidence further, and that was strange as he normally blasted them for Southampton but it was a terrible penalty. He just doesn't look confident or as though he believes he belongs at this level - possibly because he doesn't, sadly.

Lambert deserves a start? im not watching the same games as you guys then.

It's more by default though ain't it?

Sturridge - injured.

Balotelli - has had his chance and done fuck all.

Borini - *shrugs shoulders*

Lambert isn't a bad player, that performance against Boro wasn't the real him, it is a worry that he is overawed by it all, he might be trying too hard, fuck knows it's hard to judge as we have only seen cameos apart from 1 game.
