Liverpool v West Brom

It's a home game against West Brom. In spite of our inconsistent start to this season it's still a game we should win comfortably with the expensive talent we have at our disposal, Sturridge or no Sturridge. I think we'll do just that too with an early goal to settle any nerves. We haven't suddenly turned to shit, we just haven't got those early goals in games which do seem to be crucial to helping us get good results.

Rogers needs to stop tinkering with the team so much. Same formation as last season with two up top (even if that's Borini and Balo). Get Borini doing the pressing with Lallana and Sterling doing the same. Familiarity is what brought us success last year and for some odd reason Rogers has lost sight of that.

mignolet - I feel sorry for him. he makes 1 or 2 big saves a game but he makes big mistakes as well.

johnson - manquillo hasnt done much wrong but think we could do with more experience in team.

lovren and skrtel - best cb pair

moreno - enrique did well last night but moreno will be fresher.

Gerrard - top of the diamond

Hendo - right of diamond

lallana - left of diamond

coutinho - in the hole

sturridge/sterling - if sturridge is fit play him

balotelli/sterling - like to see how balotelli and sturridge get on but balo could easily be dropped as could sterling.

Sturridge usually gets right back into the flow of things following an injury, no taking 3/4 games to get upto speed.

If he's ready forget the bench, get him in the starting line up and take him off in the 2nd half when hopefully we are a goal or 3 up, rather that than bringing him off the bench with us scratching around desperate for a goal.

This should lift our spirits with a win, with the added bonus of being able to give Irvine some stick

The following PL games against QPR, Hull and Newcastle are pretty tame too.

The next run of league games is "no excuses" territory.  Things could get a bit out of hand if we start dropping a lot of points in the next 4-5 weeks.

it seems teams have worked out how to beat us.

defend deep to nullify counter attack

man mark gerrard so he cant pass the ball

do what we did so well last year - start fast

and if all else fails corners are as good as pens.

need some reverse psychology so what if:

we defend deep too

start wasting time immediately whilst also facing our demons and kick the ball out for a corner straight from the kick off.

play gerrard up front and balotelli dm
