We're paying the price for selling Suarez, just like we did for selling Alonso, Mascherano, Torres and Arbeloa before him. We are a feeder club to the european elite and that's why we'll never get anywhere.

Whenever we have a good thing going for us we get rid of our best players and then it goes right back to the start again, we've been in transition for years and what's even more mystifying is it's always painted as progress.. "Alonso's only had one good season, you seen Aquilani play? he's class" or "Suarez had to go".

We are just like Arsenal although they at least can hope for a better future now the stadium's been paid off. Do you think Man City or Chelsea sell their best players? just ship off Aguero, Kompany or Toure to Barcelona for the money....do they fuck.

We are not the club people think we are anymore. Big players don't want to come and big players want to leave. At least last year we looked onto something, to early to say. But if we don't get top 4 this season we are back to square one again

It's early days yet and while today was a shite result, I'm convinced we'll be alright in the end. We were always going to miss Suarez, anyone who thought otherwise wants sectioning, but it was always going to take our new players a while to settle too.

Mario looked better second half and him and Sturridge will eventually click once both are fully fit. Lallana, for a player who didn't have a pre-season, looked good when he came on and will only get better. We're also missing Allen and Coutinho is out of form and Markovic is very early days, would be unfair to throw him in at the deep-end now considering how bad we look.

Our defence and keeper aren't communicating well enough and our full-backs are very young. Things will click eventually we've just got to be patient. Think last season's over-achievement has gone to some fans heads and too much is expected of a team that is missing players and lost one of the best players in the world. It's going to take time.

Not making excuses for some of the errors and performances from some out there today because Jesus wept they were bad, but I have faith we can get top 4 again this season. We've gotta win the derby now, I think we will and start putting a run together and this early season nightmare will be forgotten. Things can only get better.. because right now they're blooming shit.

I'd make loads of changes for Boro, it's not an important game at all.

We should have fucking blown arsenal out of the water with bigger wage offer for sanchez.

We should have tried to sign firmino if that failed. We should have just fucking signed remy as a backup and told borini in no uncertain terms he had no future here.

And we should have stayed the fuck away from Southampton.

Tactically showed Rodgers up though.

Did he fuck. Unless you mean by getting players to feign injury and kick shit out of us aided and abetted by the ref.

Fucking funny how if mason or atkinson ref us, we'd have players off for that two footed challenge.

But, I really can be fucked arguing if people seriously thought fat sam tactically out thought us.

We should have thrown money at Reus. But that made too much sense for us stupid fucks to ever consider it.

If we don't make top 4 we are royally fucked. We will have lost all the momentum of last season. You look at the mancs - they have a crap season and anyone can see that they need more than half a new team, but they can still attract great players, even if they are total mercenaries. I'm not so sure that we would have been able to attract Falcao or Di Maria if we were in their position.

It's a terrible thing to say, but I really don't think we can compete year on year, until we have a sugar daddy like City or Chelsea. We probably can mount a title challenge every few years like last season and eventually we might win a title, but then we'll ultimately lose our star players to Spain. It doesn't happen with City or Chelsea.

We just really struggle to make that last push from contenders to winners.

I'm not going to knee jerk, but it's looking increasingly like we've bought badly. But, more games will truly determine if that's accurate.

The worrying thing is that we haven't solved the issue which made us fall short - the defence. Then, add to that that all the things that made us such an attacking threat last season, the pace of play, the intensity both with and without the ball.....and most disturbingly, THE FIGHT.....just hasn't been there this season. Yet.

Whether that's down to the attitude of the players we've bought, in that they haven't really played in teams where there's a winning mentality, remains to be seen.

But, it's time to roll some socks up and start being a bit nastier and a bit more clinical. We seem miles away from the bunch of bullies who looked down on Everton, Arsenal, Spurs etc with disdain, as we left them psychologically wounded.

It looks like we're the wounded, weak willed ones now. And it's puzzling how that's happened almost over night. The signings? A bit of a Suarez sulk, because he's not there? A realisation that we might've fell painfully short in our best chance of winning the league for ages, and maybe for the foreseeable future?

Whatever it is. It needs to be arrested. Now. Man up. Show some balls.

The derby is huge now. Lose that, and we could end up even more mentally damaged.

Win it, and it could be a huge shot in the arm and be a catalyst for us.
