Bose Soundbar?

Smaller space in the new house so looking for a sound system that will enhance without going to a full surround.

Looking at the Bose Soundbar - and also the Bose cinemate as a cheaper option.

Avoiding the need for a receiver is a plus at the moment.

Thoughts?

Suggestions?

I've got the Sonos one and it's really good. Soundbars are just not surround, so don't get your hopes up, but it is a good option for a neater set-up and for smaller lounges.

The obvious plusses with the Sonos one is that you can play all of your music library, Spotify, the radio and tunes from your phone, as well as the TV. The obviously minus is the cost of it at about £600!

Not a sound bar as such - but has anyone had or heard a sound base/stand? What are the pitfalls, watch-outs?

The base/stand being the type the telly sits on. Not as upright as a sound bar, but looks like it could sit a bit neater for where I want to put it.

I have a reasonably small living room so don't need massive amounts of dB, just a half decent sound base/stand system.

*Soz to gegg in on your Bose Sound bar thread SA, but I couldn't find one about the stands/bases*
