I'm not in London. I'm just outside in Watford, so hoping those that have/live actually in London might have some ideas

You can't get decent fruit & veg anywhere in Watford?

Has there been a nuclear plant accident nearby or something?

The fresh fruit and veg round my way seems to be getting worse and worse. Very few independent stores or even decent choice since the council fucked the market stall holders over and having 2 Sainsburys, 2 Tesco Asda, Iceland, liddle, Aldi marks and Waitrose all in a 2/3mile radius has killed non supermarket chains . So when this shit epidemic ends I'll be looking to head into London for cooking ingredients.

Anyone live around London know the best places for ingredients, meats etc.

I know there is Smithfield, billi gsgate but not been or even sure how easy it is to buy as I'll not be buying in bulk.

I normally go to wing yip at the bottom of the M1 for Chinese, Japanese ingredients.

You’re Watford, right?

If so get the overground to Queens Park and then get a lime bike and have a ride around, you’ve got Clifton Greens for the veg, a few different quality butchers, and Atari ya in Swiss Cottage for premium grade Japanese ingredients.

You could go to The Japan Centre at Westfield and everything you need will be there for the Asian side of things.

If you need more specific just ask.

The markets used to be good but some dodgy back handed deals with the lib dem major doing a town centre revamp with a company linked to her husband company meant they forced the market stall holders out, to extend the shopping centre. Built a fuck off 3 story Debenham that's been open a year and now permanently shut.

The supermarkets have really taken a massive hold as I said 2 large Tesco, 2 Sainsburys, Asda, Liddle, Aldi, Marks and Waitrose all within 3 miles. All our town centre is full off it coffee shops, chicken joints, multiple Greg's and bakeries. It's crap and the Fruit and veg in the supermarkets in generally shite 80% of the time. Force ripened and goes off in a few days etc.

Same everywhere mate with globalisation unfortunately.

The fruit at my local Asda is pretty good in fairness to them.

St Albans do a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays

That's just down the road from Watford, isn't it?

They do a Farmers market every other Sunday.

Went to St Albans once for a day out on the proviso that it had the most pubs per square mile or some shite like that, didn’t take in to consideration it also had the largest amount of bellends per square mile.

My mate was black out drunk by four in the afternoon and the best thing about the shithole was a bar with 50 varieties of pickled egg, I don’t like pickled eggs.

Fucking terrible day, don’t go, Lee.

Wasn't impressed when I went in there when it first opened. But then I live in a town with alot  of wannabe tory, microwave meal eating cunts

I've hacked your tripadvisor account.

Porto - Lovely red wine stuff but not a decent Brussels sprout to be found

The Louvre - A bit of a trek round and a distinct lack of good veg shops.............

Milton Keynes is almost as close as London and we have great fruit and veg at the market, cheap and good quality. Decent range too for your Asian stuff.

As for the Aldi shout, I find their fruit and veg really poor and I really like Aldi.

I also find Aldi fruit and veg of generally poorer quality, apparently it's so cheap because they basically take whatever is left. No complaints from me as a business model but I'm happy to pay more for better quality.

No local delivery scheme you can make use of?

I always imagined a Scottish produce section being turnips,

potatoes, Robertson’s marmalade and raw pre-battered Mars bars.

You forgot the giant Susan Boyle cardboard cut outs.
