Flying down tomorrow for work (in my suit), just checked the weather forecast & it's going to be 26 degrees.

Bastards.

I’m taking the civilised route by train. Every time I’ve checked the forecast it’s got hotter and hotter. Gin will be consumed. Cannae wait

I'm in that there London now and the chances of it being tit Thursday tomorrow are very good judging by what was on show today.

Just in O'Neils on Euston Road watching the game.

Prefer the Euston Flyer myself.

Also down the road is the Lucas Arms, not a particulary noteworthy pub but I always stop in to honour our much maligned boy.

Had a little walk and lunch, and was a bit disappointed to be honest, might be because I am in the City, so a bit more formally dressed.

I did see Gemma Atkinson though in gym clothes, so it wasn't all bad

That looks like another great recommendation...for my November trip.

'Unfortunately', one of the party on this trip is only 15

The Ivy Cafe in Marylebone is worth considering, for the post-modern traditionalist.

Took now 10-year-old son there last year... along with my Michael Heseltine lookalike, 75-year-old ex-boss and his wife.

Son Tom devoured what looked like an excellent shepherd's pie.  Me, fucking brillant minute rump steak, egg and chips.

Take them to Asia De Cuba in the St Martin's Lane hotel.  The atmosphere is great, there's a brill cocktail bat, and the food is fantastic, with each main course is big enough for two.  It actually properly is.  And when you order that way it's not too pricy.

Stringy, I walk past that place everyday on the way to work, it's next to the gymbox place, isnt it? The sign outside makes it look a bit wanky, so I never thought about going in there. What did you eat, there? I met a bloke who did the menus for Brown's (across the road), when he set up his own place in Brighton (Lucky Beach - nice burgers). He said it was good, but my natural suspicion of 'fusion' wank stuff made me a bit averse. Might try to persuade my mates to go there. Any recommendations.

* Obviously I avoided the 'aged' burgers stuff out of respect, Mr S.

I'm heading down there two weeks today to see a gig, really looking forward to it without the work element thrown in.

Last time I was down there for pleasure was the time in 2015 when Champ was running about with a blade.

Still a shithole like.

I'm going to see one of my heroes, Billy Cobham at Ronnie Scott's. I'm really excited about it too & have been using it to keep my mind of that other stuff the weekend before.

My mate stays down there & is going to take me to a few pubs nearby afterwards.
