Savage moans and whinges through games all the time. I said the same in one of the World Cup threads. Everything is "he needs to work harder", "he should do better there" and some bizarre need to expect perfection from every player in every situation in every game. This is a guy whose first touch was frequently a miscontrol and the second was an attempted tackle to win the ball back.

What I can't figure out is how he rarely ends up in the box despite seeing him working hard battling and harrying around the middle of the pitch. 

 

It's like some sort of joke hes playing on us, he actually works hard in our own half. Then when he gets forward he just ambles around. Granted the service we're giving isn't great but its obvious to see his movement is very very static when we're attacking. 

 

The hype has overshadowed him not being that intelligent in footballing terms or learning the basics. He is still stuck at a level you would expect from someone who has just broken into the team as a nineteen year old.

I wouldn't turn on him for a lack of arsedness, it's his lack of intelligence that kills us, and you can't berate him for being an unintelligent player, he can't help it, you've either got it you haven't. After watching Borini the other night I know have some sympathy with panic buying Balotelli.
