Looked very good to me and tired rapidly which is understandable given the nature of our play. He'll take some of his chances in future because he's too good not to.

Yep, thought he was excellent myself. Allowed Sturridge to wander around causing chaos too.

Should have scored but kinda glad he didnt as I want his first to be at Anfield!

Thought he added a dimension to our team today. He was strong with his back to goal and allowed sturridge and sterling to play off him. And he provides an aerial presence as well. He will get his goals but I liked his intelligence today most of all. Good start by the lad but it's one game. Show me the same work and mentality for a couple of months and we've got our selves a game changing player

I think that's the key. I wasn't fussed on him but where he can be a real asset is that he has genuine presence. Opposition managers and players aren't going to take their eyes off him because, no matter how poor he's playing, he's capable of a moment of real class. That gives our other attacking players more space and time.

Think it was a good debut all around for alot of reasons.

He had to come off realising he is not the best player on the pitch on this team and that every thing in this league is alot faster. I hope getting chased down and then hacked to the ground by a 20 year old nobody was a wake up call.
