Adidas Trainers

I'm one of those mad collectors of the mighty 3 stripes. I've got about 70 pairs. Me mates got a couple of hundred I reckon. Now he IS off his head lol. You won't see him on here though he is a blue.

Started with Kick late 70's, then Mamba, Bamba, Samba. Who remembers Ringo? No, not the Beatle - trainees you could only get in the catalogue. Part of that 'black with white stripe' gang. My fate was sealed, but who was to know?

Wade Smith arrived, and then around 82/83 they started selling decent ones in Top Shop - bought a pair of Trimm Trab (or was it Munchen?) from there. Forest Hills - white with gold stripes from one of the scally shops in the precinct, along with a Kappa jumper. Paper thin, v. disappointed (the jumper, not the trainees, or 'trabs' as they are referred to on various sites).

Always loved adidas due to that early bonding, and with eBay it all fucking went off, and I became....ADDICTED. It went from a pair a month to a 7 a day habit (slight exaggeration department), sweating over high bids, getting outbid (the FUCKERS!!!), proper snide eBay sniping.....then Facebook groups, people posting pictures of vintage trainees (labelled 'adiporn'), daft prices, JUST...ONE...MORE.....PAIR......my habit has cost me THE LOT. My job, both wives, my haircut, my sanity.....I now live in a little house made of adidas boxes in the corner of the park by the duck pond, I spend my days caressing my 'city series' collection while begging for food, change and original laces.

Take heed of my story. And don't buy the ones made in Vietnam, they are made from inferior (`TO BE CONTINUED)

Nine make some excellent trainees, but I wouldn't say they're better than Adidas, just different.

Cortez and Terra TC are boss, but so are Stan Smith, Trimm Trab and Gazelle.

Nike internationalist is very cool. I'm umming and ahhing about these two:
