Been rocking these puppies for almost three years now:

They're red, they're adidas, they're hi-tops and I just can't bring myself to retire them.

Wore these everyday when we went to New York acouple of years back: Went into loads of the big 'trabs' shops there (even one in Harlem) and nothing, nothing on sale in that fine city was as god-damned ace as these mu'fuckas.

They went a bit pinky and scuffed from wear recently  so I 'refurbished' them by waxing them in Scarpa HS12 waterproofing wax. It's restored them to a lovely red as well as softening up the already slipper-grade comfy suede and given it a nubuck/ matte leather look which looks ace. These will be flapping off the end of my feet before I bin them. Luvs them, I do.

My missus is on about throwing some of mine out because I never wear them apparently.

Needless to say I've been wearing all the older ones recently, no way I'm going through that heartache again. I can remember my Mum throwing my green Sambas out, I bet Bambi's Mum threw his Sambas out and he ordered the hit.

Mine's been taking the piss for ages about how all my trainers look the same and I've got a ridiculous amount.

We had our mortgage broker round the other week and loads of them were by the front door as we've nowhere to put anything til we move.  As he was leaving he spotted them and said "Fucking hell Ben, are you the Imelda Marcos of trainers or something?"

Very nearly pushed him and her down the stairs - the smugness radiating from her represented all manner of prohibited behaviour.

Anyone see that story about that bloke in South America that had a stash of vintage Adidas trainers in his store and he won't sell them if he doesn't feel like it? Treasure trove of classic shoes.

Bagged a pair of New York 'Carlos' last night, wish a bought 2 pairs now.
