I really feel for him. Despite the result, I’ve never seen Ronaldo dominated like that night in Kiev. In the space of a month, he played a crucial role in keeping Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero and Kane goalless. Two greatest of all times and two of the best strikers the PL has ever seen.

Did he not go on holiday with an injury, not inform the club and turn up injured on his first day back?

Klopp said he played through the same injury towards the back end of last season, which made the performance in Kiev even more impressive IMO.

I never knew he played injured. Imagine if he was fully fit! Would probably still have lost it with the clown in goal to be fair.

Point being I don't think he informed the club and went on three weeks holiday when he really should have been receiving treatment.

Unsure. Klopp said he knew about it, but I’m happy to leave the guessing game to you. Anw, let’s just hope he recovers sharpish.

Maybe being injured in Kiev indirectly made him a better player, forced him to concentrate more to compensate.

Kind of like if you're driving stoned you become a better driver because you're aware you're stoned and are more careful.

  • 4 weeks later...

It is a blow. That leaves Matip as the only cover with games coming thick and fast.

How adept is Fabinho at CB?

He played right back for Brazil so I would assume he's more than happy to also cover centre back.
