I find it a bit sad the way there is now a huge gulf for the big teams in supposedly lesser leagues, long gone are the day's where Dundee (under Shanks brother)  or Aberdeen under Ferguson could get to European semi's and finals. Now even giants like Ajax, Celtic, Marseille etc. really seem to struggle, I find European football a bit boring in terms of the ties it throws up, there seems to be a Barcelona vs Chelsea game or Valencia vs Inter every other year.

 

 

You could state Liverpool have benefitted from the creation of a top elite of clubs but it feels like we are on the periphery a lot of the time (though Hicks and Gillet’s disgusting management probably has a lot to do with this). FFP seems to be a bit useless in terms of curbing the oil soaked clubs spending so this division between the have’s and have not’s will probably widen.

It's not a first choice team, but even the first teamers look ponderous and slow.

 

Factor in that the likes of Aguero, Zabaleta etc have had no pre-season and that we play them early in the season might actually be a plus point.
