I don't think he ever showed anything to be in a cult 11. Did he have any funny moments? Any crucial moments? Apart from being called the welsh xavi and missing a sitter at Goodison his time here is an absolute blank space to me.

Yeah he was ace, I was gutted it didn’t really work out for him but you could see just how classy he was. I’m including him in a cult 11 as everyone seemed to live him but injuries kind of robbed him.

Litmanen wasn't a cult hero Shirley? Genuine world class player who was slightly over the hill when we got him. Loved him though. 

 

Origi for me is more than a cult hero due to the importance of some of the goals he scored. Genuine legend in my eyes

I’ve included him purely on the basis that he never lived up to his reputation with us. It was the one player I debated over for the reasons you mention but he was just injured too often for us.

Heskey was unplayable in that first season for us. He was excellent then he seemingly became timid and was happy to be the supporting player to enable owen. He was more integral to that set up.

I always thought Heskey should have had the balls to tell Houlier he wasn't a winger. As you said that first season he was brilliant.
