Suarez bite v2

The one thing I really need to know about is this alledged no biting clause in the mythical contract they've put together.

How the fuck does that work?

If he bites someone again then his transfer is immediately cancelled and we get him back?

He has to pay Barca the entire transfer fee?

He has to transfer his teeth to medical research?

His contract gets to bite him?

The entire collective squads of La Liga get to bite him?

Answers goddamit! We need fucking answers

Who wants to bet that if/when this transfer to Barcelona happens, shortly after the ban will be reduced by FIFA.

Has crossed my mind. Barca have more pull than we do both with FIFA and the media, the Spanish press aren't baying for his blood . Suarez didn't knock Spain out of the WC and whilst the hacks here will use it to have a go at FIFA's corruption and double standards it will be brushed aside in Geneva as the usual agenda driven rantings from our press.

The press here are dire in the most-part,  They squander their credibility in a furious hysterical witch-hunt against Suarez and expect to be taken seriously when exposing the endemic corruption at the heart of the the governing body of world football. What Suarez did should be condemned but with a sense of proportion and not to the exclusion of much more serious matters.

... and for once, and perhaps the only possible instance comparatively speaking, FIFA would be pissing down on someone from a great height, morally.

We will probably get banned from everything for 4 months, even though we didnt do anything. Thats how it seems to work.

Yeah... "Liverpool knew full well Suarez wouldn't be true to his word about never biting again, and yet they went ahead and burdened Barcelona with him... while even, in diabolical and mercenary fashion, contriving to turn a small profit into the bargain. It's an outrage..." etc

Luis is an amazing footballer, and if he goes, I'll miss his talent and passion and goals.

But I won't miss the whole circus that follows him around. Some of which is down to the media, and some of which is down to him.

Here's another way to look at what's happening right now.

10 years ago, Liverpool were forced to accept a bid of £8m plus Antonio Nunez from Real Madrid for their leading striker Michael Owen. Right now, they're looking to force Barcelona into paying something like £80m for their leading striker Luis Suarez, and want to try and get Alexis Sanchez included in any deal if possible.

Here's the way I see it. We don't have to be as good as we could be with Suarez in the team we only have to be better than Chelsea, City, United and the Arsenal. Realistically we only need to be better than United and the Arsenal. With the money we get from next years champions league and with a bit of luck FFP kicking in we can start to even the playing field.

A star striker left and we won the champions league. It's a sign.

If we improve in other areas we can mitigate Suarez' absence.

I think there are a few twists and turns in this yet.

Suarez is under contract, we don’t have to sell, and Barca appear to be the only buyer in town, which suggests a modest price. The details of any release fee are unknown, but last time, triggering it alone, did not make a difference. That is not a good start.

Secondly, Suarez has only recently signed a new contract and will not want to ask for a transfer as he will not want to forego his loyalty bonuses ( ha, ha).

This will be the third season we have lost him for almost a quarter of a league campaign due to bans, a quality replacement who actually plays a full season would be useful.

He is slowly burning his bridges with LFC isn’t he?
