First one without my dad. He never believed in it anyway " it's a rip off by inverted by card companies" the other year he asked me what he owed me when I gave him his present

It might not have meant much to him but these kind of days are always going to be there. Look after yourself, ted.

And everyone else missing their dads. Or other people

Sounds like my Dad.

His Christmas commercialism rants were epic.

Just get the stuffing right and don’t overcook the turkey. He usually had to work though and I think he enjoyed that.

He didn’t mind putting up the tree but it came down Dec 27.

Had both sides of being a dad today. Four year old nephew slept over and was up at 5am so I got up with him so my lot could sleep. Sorted him and loads of domestic shit until 8 when the others surfaced and cooked breaky for them.

Then I took my nephew and our two to see my dad at about half nine. Back here for a bit until my sister and brother-in-law arrived at eleven. Made lunch at midday-ish, then worked for a couple of hours.

After that my Father’s Day started. Got some books, the kids made cakes, Mrs Paul made margaritas and I crashed on the sofa. Then had roast dinner with a bottle of fizz before more dossing on the sofa watching The Chef Show on Netflix.

Great day.

When did people start getting loads of presents for Father's Day?

I'm not criticising it by the way, I've just heard a fair bit of it this year & am quite shocked at the amount people spend on it. I got two cards & wouldn't really expect any more than that.

Mothers day each year seems to become more and more of a big deal. Women seem to almost treat it as importantly as their birthday.

I am not that arsed about fathers day but it's still nice to be made a fuss of and I don't expect megabucks to be spent on me.

Christmas, birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, some people can’t wait to go on social media and brag about their “hauls”.

Each to their own but I sent my dad a card and a load of old footy pictures that I found on the internet, because I haven’t got two pennies to rub together. He seemed pleased with that.

I only did that on here. And apart from the bottle of JD, all my presents were dirt cheap.

God. Way to ruin it for us, man.

I took my mum to the cemetery to visit my dad's grave. It's our second Father's Day without him.

Ha ha. I wasn’t having a pop at you, or anyone else, on here, mate. It’s different on here, it’s not really social media, it’s like a little community, friends and cyber friends (sounds a bit shit), but you know what I mean.

Let's not forget all those mums who are dad's too. It's important that they get a mention here and don't just let us enjoy our own day.

Too late, Tony. The damage has already been done. You’re going on ignore.
