Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is the latest name to be linked with a surprise move to Old Trafford, as per ESPN, who cite TalkSPORT.

The sought-after midfielder’s contract comes to an end next year, and although Liverpool have been trying to renegotiate a new contract with him for a while now, it is understood that he wants to see what other options are available before signing a deal that would likely see him stay at Anfield for the next three to four years.

If Can does decide to leave, then Manchester United will have some stiff competition for his signature, as Serie A giants Juventus were heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old during the summer. They are expected to reignite their interest during the January transfer window.

Michael Carrick is set to call an end to his professional football career at the end of this season, and Jose Mourinho feels that Can would be the perfect long-term replacement.

That article had about 1% of credibility until it mentions that Mourinho is looking to Can as a long-term replacement for Carrick. As if the Portuguese shitbird thinks about the long-term. What's that you say? We have a game against that lot next weekend? Funny that.

Mate, I think Can is decent but you said Borini was going to turn out to be a cracker after he left us so your judgement, to be quite honest is shit.

True.

But even now Borini is getting a gig on Milan.

Fine lines, attitude va talent, some players just stop putting in the effort.

In Can's case he has ability but he seems a narcissist, I can't see it happening for him at the top level.

Can is not shit at all. Hence, the interest from top clubs. He can do a bit of everything, strong as an ox, never stops running and has the right mentality to play at a big club, that self confidence this squad is sorely lacking.

The trouble is he goes missing far too often when he has his 'Can't be arsed head on' which also leads to major cock ups. He's certainly not shit though.

Scored an absolute rocket earlier, I know he has as many bad games as good but when he’s good he’s unstoppable. The Arsenal game was one of the best midfield displays I’ve seen from a Liverpool midfielder in years. Give him a new deal and let him fully develop here.

I don't think he wants a new deal. He'd have signed one by now if he did.
