Really? You don't expect more from 25M besides work rate and a few pointless Cruyff turns? He is no better than Downing.

I don't think he's done anything that warrants being criticised, no. I think he's looked good so far. Unlucky with the header earlier, still finding his feet. By all means, question him if he doesn't prove himself, but based on what I've seen so far, it's harsh

Surprised by the criticism, I thought he played well today and has been getting better every game. I think he'll do well for us.

Too many people decided he was crap before he'd kicked a ball for us. They're looking stupid now, so they need to come out with some shite. Excellent player, our standout performer by some distance.

He's getting better. He looked a bit sharper to me today. I think he will increasingly come into his own. The injury set him back, and the team is in a bit of a lull, but he's trying, and you can see there is quality there. I think we overpaid, but that's the way football has gone. He's a decent player and will get better in a red shirt as we go.

If sturridge stays injury free for a while then lallana will be brilliant.

Our whole season depends on sturridge staying fit until January, and then secondly by if the club to decided to get another striker to actually suit our system.

If neither of those happen then we'll struggle for top 8 finish

Lallana gave a few interviews to the broadsheet papers before yesterday's game, a lot of it was run of the mill stuff about being happy to be here, work hard etc.

He did say how missing pre season has hit his fitness and he's playing catch up, i like his attitude when he says he 100% certain he will be a success at the club and players have to take responsibility on the pitch. He's seems very confident in his own ability, i think he's going to prove an excellent signing.

Lallana is the only player at the moment who looks like he could get into our team from last season. He isn't winning matches for us yet but his runs behind the defence and closing down of the opposition are from the same blueprint that took us so close. I would like to see a proper animal DM with Lallana, Henderson and Allen/Coutinho in front and then Sturridge and Sterling up top. Gerrard to come on as sub for 30 mins drifting around causing mayhem and then Balo and Lambert as mental plan B hail mary hoofs into the box if all else fails.

Can could be that animal in time, whether he is able to do it week in, week out at such a young age is another thing.

Sound idea all up though. Gerrard as a supersub is a pretty exciting thought.
