Sakho is a decent player but giving the captaincy to a player who stormed out of the ground after being dropped is not a good example to team mates.

He's also played infrequently and at least Henderson has a seasons worth of good form in the bank.

I think given a bit of time and patience with him he'll become a cracking player. That's if he can cut out the odd silly mistake he makes. He has looked a lot better then the player who was bought to replace him anyway. I don't trust Rodgers to bring the best out of any defenders though.

I was checking the BBC text feed during the Arsenal game, and MotD's Steve Wilson said "Mamadou Sakho with the ball at his feet is like a new-born gazelle balancing on a beach ball." It was then pointed out that he had a 91% pass completion rate at the time.

Skrtel used to be like Bambi on ice but he's looks an accomplished defender most of the time now and fairly reliable on the ball, Sakho has undoubted talent and i expect him to learn . He has come quite a long way this season already in a side that has been garbage most of the time

The journalists have it a bit in for him. Even one of the Echo journos was tweeting about his style and another taking about his "customary mistake every game". They just can't handle that a fella with a gangly style can actually be very good.

Hes played a big part in our resurgence of form. Yes,its not just Lucas, but a couple of others as well,including Sakho.

Flanagan Skrtel Sakho Moreno - is a pretty decent back four, in my opinion. Not great, but certainly if organised properly, with Lucas or another holding midfielder playing every game, and a better keeper than Mignolet behind them, won't be conceding anywhere near the 50 goals in the league we did last season. Wisdom and Ilori should be part of the first team squad next season as well.

A lot of people seem to want to talk up his performances for some reason. I noticed some people had him as MoTM against Villa as is their right but reading a number of match reports, he was generally on a 6.5 along with a number of other players and skrtel was the stand out defender.
