Before Penguin, before Catwoman, before Riddler, before Poison Ivy, before Batman there was Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Poison Ivy and Batman as Kids.

A series based entirely on origins where all the origins are different to the general canon but we'll get ridiculous signposted nods whenever a character turns up.

It's gonna be shit and cancelled before they get anywhere with it.

Full description from NBC:

ConstantineBased on the wildly popular comic book series “Hellblazer” from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, “Criminal Minds”) specializes in giving hell… hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight — or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he’s decided to leave his do-gooder life behind, but when demons target Liv (Lucy Griffiths, “True Blood”), the daughter of one of Constantine’s oldest friends, he’s reluctantly thrust back into the fray – and he’ll do whatever it takes to save her. Before long, it’s revealed that Liv’s “second sight” — an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences — is a threat to a mysterious new evil that’s rising in the shadows. Now it’s not just Liv who needs protection; the angels are starting to get worried too. So, together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all. The cast also includes Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford. Writer Daniel Cerone (“The Mentalist,” “Dexter”) serves as executive producer with David S. Goyer (“Man of Steel,” “The Dark Knight Rises”). “Constantine” is produced from Bonanza Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show is based upon characters published by DC Entertainment

In the middle of watching Titans on Netflix which is pretty good, and a lot more violent than I thought it would be, so thinking of trying Gotham next. Never really fancied it before but might give it a go. Opinions?

Also, what happened to Cardie? The original Major Tom.

I never watched Gotham, for the same reasons people posted above.

Just started series 1 due to high rating on IMBD and I like it more than I thought I would, only about 5 episodes in. As said the points to the future are a bit too obvious but if you watch it as a stand alone it is a strong 7/10.

As an aside, they seem to have Sean Pertwee/Alfred as a cockney geezer, not sure how that is going to pan out.

Yeah Titans is really good. I might give Gotham a go after it. Doom Patrol is out next Friday as well, the spin off from Titans.

Is that on Netflix?

DC have got a real inroad now that Marvel have pulled the plug on all their shit, twats that they are.

Titans wasn’t on Netflix in America, it streamed on DC’s own streaming channel an episode a week from October, then when it ended Netflix bought the rights in the UK and put the whole season up at once.

Doom Patrol will probably be the same. It’s airing weekly on the DC web channel in the states but hasn’t got a UK broadcaster yet. I’d be surprised if Netflix don’t pick it up though in the UK, but it might not be until the whole season has aired in May.
