Italian grandparent(s) I think. They've had a few of these. Mauro Camoranesi was born in Argentina as well. They're called oriundi.

Yeah remember the word from Italian Job (Vialli/Marcotti book). Most of the south don't really see themselves as Italian anyway. Two thirds of Catania's side are from Argentina.

As I recall the Italian bird/football was a hot-blooded, glamorous, tempestuous, vain, sensual, spicey, jealous minx while the English one/football was plain jane, bob average, meat and tatties drudgery but dependable and consistent with lots of commitment.

 

Actually, I say "ropey analogy"....
