It's unlikely that an individual would be attacked/hacked, unless they've got some really spiteful clued up stalker out there.

 

However, that said, in the mean time, if you want to air on the side of caution, switch to an alternate browser, such as Firefox, Chrome or Opera.

 

As Cloggy mentions, IE is not the best of browsers, but if you've used it for years and are comfortable with it, then I understand the reluctance to switch. You can always import your favourites/bookmarks from IE across to the alternate browsers.

Mick, I used IE for years before transferring to Firefox. It was easy.

Dan I've never used anything other than IE and as Dynamite says, I am comfortable with it. I hate having to change things and if things aren't in the same format it takes me ages to adjust. I still haven't forgiven Dave for switching form V Bulliten. The cunt.

What makes it shite ? All I use the internet for is forums, doing Google searches etc. What benefit would I get from using something like Chrome or Firefox ?

 

You will find any other browser much quicker. Plug ins to get rid of all the adverts are nice as well. My Ma adjusted straight away to Chrome and she still "tapes" stuff off the telly.

It's not secure, it doesn't adhere to web standards, it's slow, it's clunky, absence of a plugin community. For starters.

 

Chrome on PC. Safari on Mac.

Not sure if you can use the apps that on IE as im not clued up. I use chrome as its easy to use (for me) and the addition of apps like Hola make life great.

 

Hola will let you watch US version of netflix if you have a account, I have access to WWE network through it and sites like Hulu become accessible for good tv shows.

Hola has a security issue. I was using it at first and it was great but it has been hijacked/bought out and is currently unsafe. 

 

Zenmate is fine and should do the same thing for you.
