I have recently become acquainted with the delights of gin and tonic.

I have no idea what I should be buying or trying and scanning the supermarket shelves there is clearly a whole world of gin out there.

Good people of the GF, where do I start?

Gin is one drink I can't touch.

Which is what I thought until I decided to give gin and tonic a go earlier on in the year. Its shaping up to be my summer drink of this year. I have one at my side now as it goes

Don't you like Pims in the summer or the flavour of the moment the Cocktail, think I'll stick to Vodka and Cranberry.

I know you're 'meant' to but Pimms doesnt do much for me, anything, actually. Too sickly. I prefer my summer drinks bitter, like  mojitos, margaritas and Campari

So, I've had a few brand recommendations. Are they as varied in taste as different whiskies for instance

I base many of my relationships with people on their gin drinking habits.

1.) Never use lemon

2.) only use Schweppes tonic (Canada Dry is like bad perfume) - I'm sure you in the UK have better options.

3.) Sapphire Blue is for martinis, not a g & t.
