Speaking of cheap, by which I mean free, what sites could one potentially download old PC games from? I'm specifically interested in Sim City 2000.

If you want a legal version that works on newer systems it's cheap here

Probably go cheaper in a sale.

Downloading free pc games is fraught with risks. You could end up installing viruses that will cunt your pc in the bastard just as a starter. Would not bang.

I'm pretty sure Origin (EA's shit version of Steam) also give it away from time to time.

If you're after a good city builder rather than SimCity 2000 in particular, Cities Skylines is probably the best one these days in that mould- https://store.steampowered.com/app/255710/Cities_Skylines/ - and it regularly goes on sale for cheap.

Silent Hunter 3 is cheap on Steam if you like Untervasseboote simulations. Some players are of the opinion (me included) that with all the mods available, it’s still the most immersive uboat sim out there. Not bad for a 15 year old game.

Epic has some good deals once you knock the tenner off for the voucher.

Yep, I picked up Disco Elysium for £10.99. Cheapest it's been on steam is £27. Crysis Remastered also for £6.79.
