I agree with Col, they should charge Adele more than 50% tax for dumping those horrendous "Woe is me" songs on the public.

Plus it annoys me when people suddenly start earning millions, then moan about paying the 50% tax rate. There's no point in whining about paying that tax, she's a massive (in every sense) earner, so that's the way it is. She still earned (after tax) more off that album than most of us will see in a lifetime.

Can't bear her or her godawful music.

Its not even 50% now,is it?

Isn't her net worth something like 70 million? Poor fat cow, hope she's put a few grand to one side for a rainy day, those jellied eels, pies n mash are not cheap.

It's great that after all these years (started circa 2009) of listening to a struggling, unknown artist, us hardcore fans of Kate finally get the big pay off. Even though she was championed by Alan Partridge she's stayed relatively obscure until now.

Well done Kate!

I remember when Running up that hill was used as the theme song for the children's BBC show Running Scared, back in 1986. Starred the fella who played DI Burnside in The Bill!

And Tony Caunter who played Roy Evans, Barry’s dad, in Eastenders.

I was 15 when she burst onto the scene.

My bedsheets were never the same again.

At 15 my mother used to fold my bedsheets with a claw hammer.

Just the absolute bollocks

Haha classic. I prefer her reworked version from 1986 though, her vocals are less high pitched, you get some class wailing from Kate at the back end of the song and you get more of the brilliant guitar work at the end.

Clearly as mad as a sack of snakes

Hahahaha I don’t know why this has tickled me but I’ve just rewatched the video with that comment in mind and yeah. Fuck that. Amazing and all but what an absolute headache if she decided you’re the one and you just wanted an easy bachelor life.
