I would describe them as something more than "top players". They are elite level players. World class players. A "top player" for me is a generic term for the level below that - players who are very good but not among the best in the world at that particular moment. I suppose it's a subjective/semantic argument though and not all that important. We don't have the money to buy players who are at the very top level, unless we are lucky enough to find another Suarez.

A 26 year old who's had one really good season of top flight football & only three international caps for a very average nation.

He's costing top player money, that's about it.

I'm not going to say that Willian is a square peg in Chelsea's round hole.

But he's a square peg, looking at a cheese grater, and saying, "Fuck that."

That's right:

FUCK THAT

I don't have a fucking clue what that means, but i love it.

You know what, your manager finishing second with a lesser squad that just came seventh, scoring more goals and making everyone get a total hard on, or whatever, makes him a kinda better judge of players than nobs who look at the internet regular.

Let him get the fuck on with it.

How are you defining "top player"?

Well theres top player, then theres top top player, then theres Harry's definition of a "trrific" player, which is basically slightly below top player. Then theres your average player which is premier league level, which is actually good. But average can also be Steven Gerrard if your a manc or a bloo which is a top top player. Shit players can be former top players like Torres, or they can always be shit like Titus Bramble.

Yes, I have my reservations about him, but if the manager believes in him, then we should sign him and not try to save 2-3 million. People forget we received £127m from TV rights this season, more than any other club in the Premier League.

Where did you get the figure of £127m from? I've seen that we got £97m from the premier league (which was the highest).

I've only seen Rakitic in compilation videos, but I got the impression he's like Henderson with goals (and good at set pieces).. but I think Henderson could add goals to his game so I'm not sure he'd be a worthy addition for me. I think we need something different.

Could be completely wrong, like I say, I've never seen him play a game of football.

I lost count of how many times Hendo shot way over the crossbar from point blank positions. He missed boatloads of chances and absolutely must work on his shooting. We need more, any, goals from midfield next season.
