Hmmm. Not sure you can talk about Enrique's ability with such certainty in the present tense given he's been crocked for the best part of a year. He had his frailties before that too.

 

Whichever way, Flanagan should be a quality back up, a youngster learning the position rather than carrying it, either on his best or weaker side.

Flanno's confidence in tackling and decisiveness on the ball was refreshing last season because it was compared to the abject lethargy and waywardness of Johnson's play. However we should be looking for more quality and speed from our starting fullbacks. Flanno, like Lucas, is a perfect backup.

Correct. He was skinned on several times and was one of the (many) factors behind us shipping so many goals. And no amount of Bjornebye's little cries when someone says something mean about the lad is going to change that,

 

We need two new starting fullbacks, but we aren't going to get them. So let's just hope Flanagan is more effective in his primary role as a defender who stops crosses coming and is more consistent this season. Because he needs to be better. He has the attitude, but....jury is out on the talent. We'll see.But first name on the team sheet? No fucking way.

Stupid...... Now stupid is clearly not taking my original post about Flanagan with a pinch of salt because it was quite clearly tongue in cheek.

 

That said, for me he is the best full-back at the club and he will only get better because he is a grafter and he genuinely gives a fuck. Not just about the club either, he is clearly grateful to be in this position.
