I looked at it and was put off by Kiera wassname, worth trying?

She's one I refuse to watch. Her and that Anne Hathaway too. The pair of them wind me up.

Watched the first three episodes of Landman and enjoying it a lot. Nice to see a modern programme where men are men & women are women.

Anne Hathaway I’ll look at all day, but it’s a hard pass on Knightley.

As for men are men and women are women, I also like that there’s different types of women, but they have different strengths and weaknesses and nobody is perfect. It makes characters feel real.

Say nothing

Powerful drama about 2 young sisters who joined the ira in the early 70s.

It makes it explicitly clearly just how catholics were treated in their own country by the protestant majority, the ruc and then the British army at that time.

However as it goes on,the doubts and moral ambiguities pile up.It pulls no punches,in ep3 there is a particularly harrowing scene and the prison scenes are particularly tough.

Maxine peak tells the story in flashback but the girl who plays her younger self is outstanding.

Throughout it all l,runs the story of a young mother who was abducted and murdered by the ira.

Best drama I've watched in ages

9/10

Fun fact, one of the sisters married the actor Stephen Rea, who was one of the actors who'd voice Gerry Adams on the news.

Aye, I get that but this obsession with making female characters strong and independent and the men, weak & stupid becomes grating, for me at least.

Whatever happened to Gary Cooper?

24 hrs in police custody

bit of a so so episode

the solicitor was an absolute bellend, and the main grafter thought he was tony montana, because he shifted some bashed up lemo.

7/10

I quite liked it. Poor fella only wanted a new chair with his money and instead had to settle for it being used to put tampons up someones nose.

Day of The Jackal

Started well, big budget, lots of promise, but the acting is truly appalling.

I want to punch Redmayne right in his mouth, hard. He is terrible.

The fat cunt who plays Bianca though, Jesus Christ, she might be the worst actress and the worst character I've ever seen. I need her to die.

3/10

Started The Day of the Jackal.

Assassin with a nagging wife, but it's not a comedy, I like this.

It seems his main antagonist will have the same problem.

I take it marital issues are not in the book and the old film?

Other than him being a top drawer assassin and it using the title, it bears little resemblance to the source material or film. Just take it on its own merits.

Three episodes into Landman and really enjoying it.
Billy Bob Thornton is brilliant in stuff like this, Goliath, which was recommended to me on here is a real hidden gem.

Yeah Goliath was really excellent, he's a fantastic actor. Not unlike Gary Oldman for me in some ways, although far less heralded.

It’s great. The MI6 agent who is chasing him is one annoying bitch though. It’s quite unusual in that you’re rooting for the heartless killer as opposed to the person trying to stop him.

She was annoying in No Time To Die as well. A blatant attempt to make 007 a minority, likely pan sexual as well.
