Surely nobody gets plastic surgery to make their nose bigger and ears stick out more? I thought Son was too much on a mission and wouldn't accept any counter claims at all, and ultimately that put me off him. The old guy's life sounded really interesting and i wish they had done a documentary about that really, haha! Why did he change his name that many times?

Lucan's son looks spookily like the Drag Queen old man though, now that is odd. As you say DNA tests would either prove or dismiss everything.

well if you are on the run and have a recognisable face. why would you not make those changes? literally for the reasons you say, it would be the last thing investigators and the public are looking for. big ears, big nose, beard. british formal dress to dressing like the dalai lama or whatever when he was first in the Indian Buddhist commune or wherever he first went. seems a decent disguise to me.

On looks, i thought the old man could have been Lucan or the drag queen - they're 50 years apart, who the fuck knows. And they could have been all one in the same or not. Although I didn't think the drag queen looked close enough to Lucan as they were the similar age. But if Lucan was the old man - it's not a stretch to think his relationship with the drag shows producer was such to get him to point to the wrong man, who knows? AI would find out surely if the old man was the drag queen. It could really be anything - which is why I can't understand why not more AI facial recognition or DNA was used. It made me feel they had done the AI and not got the results they wanted, so supressed it.

I saw something on Twitter saying that the fella who had been the director of the drag shows in 1969 was only 20 in 1969 so it didn't ring true. He may have been a prodigy, so hardly conclusive. There were certainly a hell of a lot of unanswered questions but given Clive has admitted defeat then that's likely the end of it, sadly.

I did love the fact that (after being told about the drag queen stuff being five years before the murder) Son just immediately said "Well he must have bumped into Graham at some point and stolen his identity then" like that is the most plausible thing in the world

I've got the last episode of the penguin to watch. The therapist guy is such a bad actor every time he enters a scene i pick up my phone.

He is shocking. Apparently they're setting him up to be Scarecrow in the next series.

Anyway, I finished this last night and thought it was OK, 6/10 overall but 9.5/10 for Sofia, a proper CILF.

Yeah, the son was a knob. What I also thought was funny with him, early on you see his missus moaning about him, but the end she's not in it, so I assume she'd clearly fucked him off.

As you point out though from the perspective of the documentary makers, they certainly seem to have left a lot of stone unturned. It's almost like "fuck, we've spent years doing this, let's get something out now while we can still salvage something". You'd think part of the BBC's process in taking on a documentary would be to ask these very questions.

The Diplomat.  Watched around 10/12 minutes of it.

There were just too many handsome, trendy people in it.  So bad casting.

It wanted to establish the "long-time best buddies" relationship between two female leads so gave them banter dialogue.  The trouble was it was done whilst sharing a car with a grieving father.

Highly inappropriate and implausible.  So bad writing/directing.

Someone earlier had recommended it, so I gave it a go. Well, as much as I could.

It's a no from me.

I’ve got it on now and I’m not sure what you mean by the 3rd paragraph? There is only 1 female lead and it’s Keri Russell and she’s a milf

It’s easy watching. Quite funny. Enjoyable nonsense.

Yeah, I watched about 15 minutes of E01 (of what turned out to be the UK version), knowing only that there was some sort of bombing of a ship at the start.

When the bartender died as a result of a jetski accident, I figured he'd done the bombing. But how could he A. Do any real damage with a jetski? And B. do any real damage without blowing himself to bits?

And then I realized that people on here were talking about the US version.

So I watched the first episode of that, concluded it was shite, and binned it as well.

(My streaming service didn't do much of a job of indicating which stream was which.)

Same. A bastard child, in the theosophy movement, meeting holy men, royals and Timothy Leary. Hitting the '60s with LSD and drag shows. The man lead an interesting life, even if half of it turned out to be bullshit it'd be a great story.

She was in one of the last scenes, looking all wistful in the kitchen with a cup of coffee. But that could have been clever editing, as she clearly wasn't happy and who could blame her? Getting off to Australia a few times with Clive and Sandra's ex, whilst she probably ended up with a week in Southend.

Watched the first episode of "The Listeners" on iPlayer last night, quite an intriguing start but i fear they will explain "the hum" away in an unsatisfactory way eventually. They are clearly hinting at an affair between the lad and the teacher too. There is definitely something about Rebecca Hall too...

Perfect Couple

Just finished this and it was surprisingly decent. A horrible bunch of rich cunts, backstabbing, adultery and lies galore.

Predictable plot twists but some good acting, and that's Bono's daughter in the lead role.

7/10

Nah, barely 6/10. It combines now already annoying obsession with rich people (like producers of these shows are that far off) being cunts and equally annoying traditional who done it revival. Some awful acting and occasionally terrible dialogue too.  And why, Isabelle Adjani, why?

Started A Man on the Inside yesterday on Netflix, which is apparently based on . It's the second Michael Schur/Ted Danson collaboration on Netflix after Good Place. Enjoyed the first 2 episodes, it goes into the easy watch category for me. Especially with this fox in. Lilah Richcreek Estrada.

The Good Place was indeed pretty pretty good.

Ha damn, forgot to finish my sentence there. Based on a 2020 documentary, The Mole where the director got an 83 year-old to infiltrate an old people's home.
