I don't really see the point of sex scenes these days. They don't add anything at all, back when porn was hard to find I can see why they thought the need for something "sexy" was needed to try and get publicity or tempt people into watching it.

But considering the majority of the population now carries something in their pocket that has access to more filth than anyone could ever possibly need then I really don't see the point now.

Reminds me of someone, on here I think, getting excited at the prospect of John and Danaerys shagging on GOT.  Like, why?  Watered down shite.

As others have said the first couple of seasons of the US House Of Cards are fucking great but then it can’t sustain it. I jibbed it as well without finishing it which I hardly ever do. Doug Stamper his mate in it is a fucking great character. It never ceases to amaze me over the years how many things that fella turns up in.

He was in the final season of The Sopranos too.

Deceit

Drama about the honey trap to reel in colin stagg for the Rachel nikell murder.

2 episodes in..very gritty but the girl playing the undercover officer is excellent .

Not sure about the portrayal of the crime profiler who is coming off as very malevolent.

Long Lost Family on ITV now is the best program on the telly (now that Mr Inbetween had finished).

It's a cracker tonight too and there promises to be more tears after the break. Oway Davina love, get a shift on...

I'm assuming none of the people involved have read the Family Strife thread ?

Watched the first episode of this the other night. The lass playing the undercover was in The Virtues (played Dinah) the other year, as more or less an unknown at the time I think, and was superb in it. Seems to be a talent.

She's in everything her now.

She had a lead role in the HBO show Raised By Wolves and is in the new Guy Ritchie film Wrath of Man. Amongst other things.

Definitely a flavour of the month element to these things isn’t there. One of the reasons I like what Meadows does so much. Though he uses some recurring actors and obviously the likes of Graham are widely known, there are also undiscovered ones he gives a go who you’re able to see just as their character rather than ‘Oh yeah, it’s her off such and such’.

There’s a new one-off documentary on Netflix about Dennis Nilsen, with voice overs from the man himself using tape recordings he made in his cell.

I’m now really interested in trying a prison curry with lashings of West Indian sauce. He highly recommended it. I’ve also developed an interest in killing young fellas and flushing them down the loo.

You going to have to get a bigger loo.

I'll watch that whilst it's a one-off, surprised Netflix didn't drag it out with 6 episodes.

Black Summer.

Watched the first season of the Zombie series ages ago on Netflix I remember liking it but put it down as one of those one season and then cancelled shows so was pleasantly surprised to see a second season pop up.

I don't remember too much of the story arc from the first season but nevertheless I like the pacing and how each episode is split into three or four titled scenes.

A budget version of Walking Dead but faster paced and the Zombies are more 28 days later running types.

Solid 8/10.

Watched Mare of Easttown finally, well the supposed golden age of television must be truly over if this (and Queen's Gambit) is considered great. First 3 episodes serve as nice slow exposition to a proper gritty small town police procedural, but from Ep4 on you increasingly realize the creators have written a lot of checks they cannot cash, writing gets progressively worse, unnecessary story lines and red herrings pile up and by the end you no longer care about who done it.

Superb production values though, serve to hide cliches and fakery.

The Golden Age of television was when Dogging Tales came on surely

Although I agree with much of what you say, I offer the following by way of balance.

Told the Mrs we’ll settle down and watch this tonight. Looks like it’s gonna be another 3 months searching for something we both agree on
