Cornwall: This fishing life. There’s been a few shows about Cornish fisherman on lately.  I find them fascinating, those fuckers must be the hardest working blokes in the country.  They also seem to be exploited. Brown crab, £1.50 per kilo.  Brown crab meat £40 per kilo.  Only through Covid have a few had time to set up to process too.

Informer (British Netfilx TV Series) 7.5/10

Only got 1 episode left of this. Took a punt on it the other night and its defo worth a watch. Paddy Considine is an anti-terrorism cop with a dark past. Recruits a young informer who gets dragged into the seedy world of cunt behaviour.

I found that series quite good about the making of various films, different genres etc.

Can't think of his name  a film critic, he's got a TinTin haircut, on BBC 4.

Quite good, Mark or Matt someone.

Kermode?

BBC 2 - it’s on iPlayer.

The blokes can do anything, it breaks and they fix it, electrics, mechanical, welding the full hit.  As someone who can’t do anything they are like supermen.

I'll watch that. I'm not into fishing but I like watching people coping in difficult environments. Like a postman in Toxteth, shit like that.

Was Dwight Yorke featured at all?

I read somewhere that when Harvey was a baby, he constantly accused her of over feeding him. Easy mistake to make, to be fair, as the lad was always enormous. But it was that Prader-Willi syndrome. Doesn't excuse him playing no part in his life whatsoever in the subsequent years though.

I believe he has been offered a job as a train announcer too. Hopefully its at Manchester Victoria, where he would do a way better job than the ones there timidly announcing the 4th peak time TPE cancellation on the trot, to Liverpool.

The Staircase - two thirds through since 10pm Tuesday night. 4.15am on Wednesday still ploughing through. Tremendous.

Absolutely awesome. I've met the lawyer, David Rudolf. I was proper starstruck. Mind, so was he.

It's the owls!

The Spy

6-parter on Netflix based on a true story of an Israeli spy in Syria in the 1960s.  Sacha Baron Cohen is the spy, which might put you off, but he's really excellent in it.  Stan Beeman from the Americans is his handler in Mossad.  The one slightly weird thing is that it's all in English, but with Israeli or Syrian accents.  Otherwise it's pretty good stuff.  Recommended.

Nice hint at the final theory. It must have been recorded over three periods as it seemed to get resolved only recently.

Whole thing is extraordinary. Owls indeed. In any case, I thought Rudolf was amazing in the series and when he did a UK tour discussing the whole case, I got two tickets to see him at Islington Town Hall. I got there really early - before Mr rb14 - to nab the best seats and Rudolf pitched up early too. He and I got into conversation. Mr rb14 was dead jealous because I met him and he didn't. He pretended not to be arsed like. But he sooo was.

Rudolf seemed a really decent guy and looked after his client throughout.

Hopefully you didn't meet the sister of the deceased. Definitely a Trump voter if ever I saw one.

Mentioned it a few days ago but Informer on Netflix with Paddy Considine. Finished it last night. If you like British Espionage stuff its well worth a watch. Considine as usual is superb in it. Bit flakey at bits but defo worth a go. 7.5/10

Co-incidentally been watching some Considine stuff on youtube recently, forgot how brilliant he was in A Room for Romeo Brass, equal parts scary and hilarious.

The bit at 0.45 in this clip never ceases to make me laugh
